I am mtg my 15 yr old brother and 24 yr old sis +step mom at WDW in April. We will also have my 2 DS age 8 and 12....I just told my brother that I wanted to book the illuminations cruise as a surprise for my step mom and sis.....I was disappointed that he didn't seem too enthused about it, not like I hoped he would be! I know my sis and step mom will love this and I know the kids will enjoy it also...but is there anything else anyone could recommend doing as somethign special for a 15 yr old boy (we will be there right near his bday)? He's very typical...loves sports, video games (we will do DQ), heavy metal..typical 15 yr old stuff.....want to give him something a little extra magical as I don't get to see him very often!!

How about learning to surf at the water parks or parasailing? THese kids usually love the water mice too!

I'm taking my granddaughter parasailing in December. She's only 11, but I'll bet your brother would love doing that, too. It's run by Sammy Duvall from the Contemporary Resort .

You can check it out at the following link: http://www.sammyduvall.com/watersports/default.asp

Have fun whatever you decide!

63 days and counting . . . again!

water mice - My kids can't wait to do this. Show him a picture of these and let him know he can drive the boat around by himself. I bet this would get him excited.

Has he even been to Disney Quest? You will have to pull him out of there. He will love it. This is the reason my 20 yo son wants to come back.

I know this won't excite him now but while at epcot. Try eating around the lands. My kids enjoy this. We eat a food from each country. And don't forget when you get to canada, have a beavertail (Yummy) and ask the CM to sing the beavertail song.

Go and enjoy, usually once your in the parks themselves the magic just happens!

Remember that 15 yr olds do not always show their excitement about things they really want to do! (Can you tell I've had a couple of them?) Maybe you should mention some of the ideas mentioned here and let him choose one or two then you decide which one it will be. Good luck!

You can also rent a boat by the hour with Sammy's and do water skiing, wakeboarding, and the tubing(sp) with an instructor(driver). We did this and all my kids had a blast.

When my DS was 17, he showed no excitement at WDW, although I did catch him smiling and laughing a few times on rides. ;)

For some fun for him, we rented a small sailboat at the Poly and sent him off for some time on his own. pirate: He really enjoyed this, especially when another teen (a young lady) began following him around the lagoon in her own boat! :boat:

He also had fun in the arcades.

I think your brother will enjoy himself, but boys that age don't always show their enthusiasm for things Disney, even though they're having a great time. Enjoy your trip! :earsgirl:

I should have mentioned that my brother is of a very considerable size. I think he would love to do the watermice but I think he might be over the weight limit. Is there a limit? We were there together last year and he loved DQ...mmmm....would they let me put a few candles in a cheesecake and sing him happy bday?

The Duvall personal watercrafts look really cool!!! Does anyone know what the weight limit is on them? Is there an age limit since I think my 12 yr old DS would love this also! I had no idea about these things being offered!!

And, MdMmim..I think you're right...maybe right now he just might not understand what illuminations is all about (we missed it last year)....maybe if I send him some pics of illuminations and the cruise stuff he might "get it". I really want to send my 12 yr old DS to have lunch with an imagineer and wish my bro would be interested in that..which would help me in my dilemma of not wanting to send my son by himself!

thanks everyone!!

You could have something on the cruise for his B-Day. I have seen them decorated. I don't know if you have to book a bithday cruise, but you can bring a cake on.
