What don't you like about the DVC?

We have been owners since 1995, and have absolutely no complaints. Sure, we would like more perks, such as discounts equivalent to Florida residents, access to the evenings only passes. Also, with 5 courses, it seems that they could be a little more generous with green fees. These wishes are no reflection on DVC ownership. Howabout a one-day advanced window for the hard to get PS, such as Cinderella's?

We also own in two very fine timeshares, Marriott and Fairfield. DVC is by far the best for service and flexibility. Fairfield is moving into the point system, but Marriott is lagging way behind.

I dislike how being a DVC member is now making me plan more trips in a year's period than I thought I ever would. It's a habit that is making me want to go back for more and more and more.

I have to agree. Why isnt there ? And why hasnt the membership flooded disney's mailbox with this request?

While I'm lucky enough to receive the Florida resident rate for park passes, I too would like to see some sort of discount for being a DVC member. I mean, c'mon, Disney knows we are going to keep returning so how about a little show of appreciation.

Other than that, I am very glad that I finally bought into DVC. I've thought about it for years and finally decided to do it. We just used our points for the first time last week at VWL and hada great time. I cant' wait for the next trip!

Okay that said - The more points you have the more the taxes and yearly fees are - we have 700pts 300 VWL and 400 OKW and its like a 2 mortgage payments when they are due each year!

And if you look at the units like you live there fulltime every little thing ie:missing one fork slight and I mean VERY SLIGHT noticable wear on the traffic path of the carpets in a unit a scratch on the fridge door - these LITTLE things may bother some - not me - I don't LIVE there - my house is worse .

I stayed my 1st 3 WDW vacations at the ALL-STAR resorts -2x at MOvies 1x at Music - and our 1st trip HOME to OKW - HEAVEN!!!! to have a kitchen, washer&dryer, patio/deck, seperate bdrm (1bdrm and larger units) was worth it alone!

DVc has increased our joy of vacationing100x over - at the end of a long day in the park(or what ever you did) its nice to have space places to sit without sitting on a bed. VERY RELAXING! Oh and having the VERY large jacuzzi IS GREAT!

We vacation more - I mean if you have points - once paid - its like free accommadations so its just getting there and if you LOVE wdw annual passes are the way to go (or Premium APs). And the way we tour WDW is different - we know we are going to be back so when in the parks its very relaxed - we don't have a hr to hr schedule! NO PRESSURE!


I can't say enough good things about DVC - WE truly love it!

This is exactly why i called disney and i am starting the process of buying at the SSR. Last yr we had to rush and wasnt able to enjoy the trip. To top it off I fell and fractured my ankle at MGM ,so I was on crutches or a wheel chair for the trip. Hopefully everything goes good with the finacing and we become members soon so I can enjoy my next trip ,next april and not have to rush.

If I am reading your right, they dont offer us the night passes like i had being a cash guest at the yacht club last yr?

IMO, easily the worst thing about DVC is the difficulty in leveraging the memberships to stay at other Disney resorts. While I do like the DVC resorts for the most part, Disney saves their best for the "hotel customers".

DVC doesnt have a Contemporary, Poly, GF, AK with the very rich theming. The best resorts are non-DVC. I would LOVE to be able to stay at one of the premier resorts on the monorail, most DVC resorts just seem like "afterthoughts" to the originals (Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge).
