What does your company give you for Xmas

My hospital gives us $50.00 per year of service if we have been good little nurses for xmas. If you had disciplinary action for being a bad nurse you get nothing.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

wow $50 per year? that is pretty cool esp if you have been there awhile like most nurses. our hospital taxed our $25 grocery gift card..

I am a high school teacher and I will get out of work 1/2 hour early on the last day of school before break--that extra 30 minutes the day before Christmas eve is priceless!
DH will get out of work a few hours early on Christmas eve. The extra time we get as a family before the extended family comes is also priceless.

Our hospital always gives $25 grocery gift card. They also have a party that a small percentage of the us goes to. I can't complain really.

When I worked for a restuarant supply store we got the best Christmas stuff. I was not expecting anything but they gave us a huge party and we each got a gift through a game where we drew numbers and you could either pick out a gift from the table or take one from someone else and they had to repick. I got a smoothie maker which i use almost daily. We also recieved a nice pen set and a giftcard for $60 to the store (they had everything there from food to dishes). We also recieved a bonus check that was based on our sales during the holiday season toward the end of January.

I miss working there not just because of the gifts but because it really felt like a family.

we got off work a few days early. my boss gave me a $25 gift card... bought with her own money.

this all sounds great... but we are way overworked and way underpaid the rest of the year.... :confused3;)

I got a picture of my director's kids. :)

I made about $100 worth of Christmas candy for my guys and organized a potluck lunch this week. The company provides lunch for those that have to work on Christmas day (we are 24x7).

There used to be big holiday parties (in January) in the past but due to the economy they quit those last year. We sometimes receive baskets from vendors....got oranges/grapefruit from one company and a nice basket of treats from another.

The biggest perk for me is that we get released early on Christmas Eve so I don't have to burn a day of vacation to fly back home. :)

DH: Nothing
Me: Nothing from company, boss usually gives something like a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.
We each used to have a holiday party, but that has been cancelled the past 2 years. I wasn't too upset about the party cancellations, but I do think it would be nice for some kind of employee appreciation.

I work for a very small company, 2007 was a $500 bonus, but 2008 was cut to a gift basket of "gourmet" food so I wasn't expecting anything from my employer this year (we had taken paycuts and vacation cuts early in the Spring due to the economy). Frankly we are happy to be weathering the economy enough that our company is still in business. So we were surprised when our owner invited us to a Holiday Party at his house this year. As we were leaving we were each given a different "gift basket" with cards attached, inside mine was $200. I was VERY pleasantly surprised as I was anticipating nothing.

The office also receives gift baskets, cookies, candies, etc from some of the manufacturers that we do business with. We split these amongst the office staff.

I also do freelance work on the side and last year one of my clients gave me a whole gift bag full of Disney Christmas ornaments. They were all vintage that she had had for years. She knew of my love of Disney and thought that I would like to have them. I was very touched. Other client gifts have included a DVD of The Secret (I have yet to open it) and Bath and Body Works gift basket. One client had recently purchased a new HP All-In-One Printer and she loved it so much she thought that I needed one just like it for my own home office so she gave me one for Christmas.

SO works for a major home improvement company. This year they had the holiday party in November. We were out of town (Thanksgiving weekend) so we were unable to attend. In years past (and I am assuming this year was similar) they have a catered dinner with a DJ and raffle off prizes (things in the $15-30 range). Last year they also gave a coffee mug with the company logo full of candy. Since he didn't go to the party he received nothing this year.

I got a cellophane wrapped twin pack of cupcakes from my p/t retail employer:headache:

From my school job : HR notified those that are going to be pink slipped, and also sent out a notice telling us we are not to accept gifts as it is an ethics violation:sad2:

It amazes me to read that people are giving/bribing teachers with gifts of between $20-$100. That just strikes me as too extravagant.)

I gave my DS 4th. grade teacher a $25 GC to Target - no way is it bribing! She is a wonderful teacher and I appreciate all she does. I don't give anyone else in the school a gift, just the teacher. There are parents that give more then that.

The college doesn't actually give us anything but the dean of our campus gives us a personal gift (this year it was body spray and lotion from Victoria's Secret--I am sure his wife picked it out), in the past its been a really nice basket with fun little gifts in it, or even a beautiful Christmas plant. I really enjoy the gift because its more personal than a gc and he really shows his appreciation in our work.

The college president holds a huge Christmas party at his home. I love going because I love seeing the house--absolutely beautiful! But he and his wife speak to every single employee personally and he always lets us know he appreciates us.

Its not a lot but it feels good to know they really do appreciate us.

Speaking of teachers gifts, one of the things I miss about being in child care is all the little gifts that the kids brought in. I can look at my tree and pick out the ornaments that different kids gave me and each year I smile when I take out the pretty rag angle a cute little boy was so proud to give me. We did gets lots of gc's but the things I have enjoyed the most are the little trinket gifts.

And dd's teachers are getting homemade caramel popcorn in cute little Christmas buckets. She has always had more than one teacher to buy for (the group of teachers team teach) and I just cannot afford $25 gift cards for each one.

I work for a large medical organization and it's been a tight year so I was pleasantly surprised when given a choice of either cashing in a week's vacation time OR being gifted a small cash bonus. I'm VERY thankful to have a job in the medical field and to be able to work with great people, so a special holiday gift isn't a biggie with me:santa:

Large cash bonus (enough to pay my mortgage for 6 months), the week off between Christmas and New Years - paid. Love my job.

I am a teacher=nothing
DH works for a food distribution warehouse=small turkey at Thanksgiving and a small ham at Christmas.

I'm a preschool teacher in a private church preschool. I get the week off between Christmas and New Year's UNPAID :rotfl: We have a staff Christmas party which we all bring something to eat, but our director gives us each a small gift (from her). Of course, most of our parents are very generous and give the teachers individual gifts. So far, I've received a lot of cookies and candy.

My DH gets a small bonus dependent on how the company did for the year. Last year, he got $25 before taxes. Woooo....:rolleyes1 They also have a "holiday" party for the employees, which takes place sometime in January when it's cheaper to go out (LOL...joke among the employees). We've often said that we wished they'd bag the party and just split what they pay among the employees and give us each the cash. The parties are always boring...

ETA: I was just reading through the rest of these, and I want to say that DH and I are EXTREMELY thankful to have jobs. We know how blessed we are. We both work very hard, and I am often told what a great teacher I am. That is a great gift! Unfortunately for DH, he works very hard too, and is good at what he does, and very rarely is given "kudos" from the powers that be. It would be nice once in a while to be told you are doing a great job!

I get a card signed by our principal and assistant principal.

I do feel appreciated as they often stop in to my classroom and see what we're up to, and I always get positive feedback.

$25 gift card to a grocery store & we went out to lunch at a local BBQ place.

Yearly bonus comes in Feb.
