What does your choice of resort theme say about you?

We are Poly fans.....(Yes, I said Poly instead of Polynesian just to bug those people that are for some reasons bugged by it.... ) and we were wondering what it was about it that made us love it so much and feel like it was so much of an escape for us.

We don't have any real desire to go to the real islands - oh I don't mean never - but there are at least 900 other places ahead of it on the list of dream vacations.

I think maybe our choice says we are just a little goofier than most people (even most Disney people! ) and we like the idea of fake Polynesia better than real Polynesia! We want tiki torches and silly music but not the travel time!

What does your favorite say about your personality?

since we don't have a "favorite" but are still "trying on" different resorts... does that say we're fickle?! :flower:

We have our favorites, but when heading to WDW we don't chose a resort just because it is our favorite, we chose the resort we are staying at based on what we are doing for that visit. We chose a resort that will be most conveniently located for that visit.

Just made our ressies last night for POFQ. As many times as I've been to WDW (20 in all over the last 20 years), I have always thought POFQ has this charm and intimacy about it. I love the South,... that slower-paced lifestyle. So with that in mind, this is where my wife and I will be staying this year. Thank goodness for this promotion Disney is running right now. I was afraid we were going to miss the 50th. This has made it possible. See y'all on Sept 28th thru Oct 4th! :earboy2:

He,he !! :rotfl2:

But if you ever get "bored" about going to Disney, then you could take on a vacation in Denmark. I live only 17 miles from Egeskov Castle in Denmark. Its very nice with water around it, a nice old park, car-motorcycle-firefighter-doll museums. Heres a link to some pictures from the old castle (built in 1554):

Let me start off by saying I am NOT Shirley McClane, BUT.....

I do believe that in some "other" life, I should have been born in the Victorian Era.....so hence....I like the Grand Floridian.

Denmark is in our immediate future!!!! We can't wait!

Actually, a themed hotel of alot of different European countries would be fun. I always wished I could stay "upstairs" in Germany or Morrocco at EPCOT!!!!

I feel the same way. Sometimes I say that I was born in the wrong era.

So far, we have only stayed at CSR and POFQ. This fall, we will be at Pop- and I have a sneaking suspicion that we will really love it! I don't know what that says about us- we like really large Big Wheels and Play-Doh? :teeth:

I really think it does have something to do with the kid inside us and how we loved to play and pretend when we were little.

We played alot of cowboy and indians when we were little, and just walking through frontier land gives me a little rush, remembering what it was like to be able to pretend with that intensity.

I think Walt did a good idea of representing a lot of our childhood fantasies and letting us relive them a little!!!

By looking at your list of stays at WDW- I would have to agree with you that you like the Grand Floridian!! :goodvibes

That would make me wishy washy since we've always tried to stay at different resorts. :rotfl:

My favorites at WDW are WL and AKL. Does that mean I like the great outdoors?? Ugh... I don't think so. ;)

I don't know what this says about me, but I sure love the WL. I wouldn't say I'm an outdoors type of person, so maybe since the WL is in WDW I can pretend to be?? :confused3 I think the WL is gorgeous! :flower:

 I hate to think about what our staying at the Contemporary says about us

We really have stayed there mostly because of the convenience factor. When we first stayed there, it was because my son had to stay in the "Monorail Hotel", but it really grew on us!

My point exactlly ! You like the fake outdoors - minus the "roughing it! I don't blame you. I like to pee indoors inside nice Disney resort bathrooms!!! ;)

Hey, again guys !

I have just found another link to a great castle in Denmark, only 30 miles from Egeskov Castle pics, its called Valdemars Castle, built by King Christian IV in 1644.

The castle has museums, café, restaurant and guess what, people can get married here!.

The coolest thing for visitors is, that you can actually stay at this castle, as they have a number of rooms for rent for visitors!.

Price range for staying at the castle: 130 - 188 $ per night.

Here is a link to Valdemars Castle with pics and information:
