I have trouble remember ours because it's the day before my brother's birthday and I constantly get the 2 dates mixed up. Forget remembering how many years we've been married. After getting that wrong several times I came up with the perfect answer "many, many happy years" .
It means she is having an affair with a married man that she met on the DIs and they are going to off you and collect the insurance and move to Tahiti.
I always forget - but then again DH always forgets as well. Usually who ever remembers it first will wish the other one a happy anniversary (sometimes weeks after the actual event). The person who remembers first, doesn't wish the other person a happy anniversary because we hope they have a happy anniversary - but more so we can make the other person say "Oh ****!!!, I forgot" We consider it a non issue in our marriage, and we save the arguments for more important things like who has the better design for the jack-o- lantern this year or who drank the last beer.
But I already gave her a gift. She didn't even realize it was for our anniversary, even though when I handed it to her, I said "happy anniversary". Several hours later she called (from home, btw) and said she just realized today is our anniversary. Again, I say
It means men are not the only ones to mess up like that in a marriage.
I have forgotten my anniversary more than I can say, and I KNOW dates! I feel horrible, and I never imagined the day would come where I would actually forget, but it happens.
