DH & I own a grocery store. He works the scene (managing) and I work behind the scenes (financial, at home with kids). ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

For close to two years now I have not been able to work due to a very serious illness. I have been very lucky and came out of it and am recovering at the current time.
krdisneybound ~
I'm sorry to hear you've been ill for so long, but glad you are doing better now. I hope you make a full recovery. :grouphug:

I'm an RN. I work part-time in a very busy labor and delivery unit (5,000+ babies a year) as well as high-risk pregnancy. When I'm not helping to deliver babies at the hospital, I'm at home with the kids (who are growing up WAY too fast !)

DH is an area manager at a large university in Philadelphia. The area he primarily oversees are the dorms. He always dreads the end of August which is move-in day for the students and the parents bombard him with their questions/complaints !

I am an organist and piano teacher. DH is a middle school band director.

I have been a stay at home Mom for the past 6 years. Before that I worked for a bank.
DH is an assistant controller for a commercial real estate management company.(accountant).

I am an elementary school teacher (currently teach 3rd grade). DH (DisneyJam) is a computer consultant.

I am a registered nurse, but currently a SAHM. DH is a contractor, formerly a hospital administrator.

Here's one I haven't seen on this thread yet...I'm an "employment technician"... for a department of a city which subcontracts with a county which receives state and federal funding to provide employment services to public assistance recipients...did I lose anyone yet? Let's just say we're a social services agency...or , if you want to look at it another way, the "job police"...DH is a little less complicated, he's a principal operations manager for a university food service... :earsgirl:

I am a high school librarian, during school months, and a part-time librarian for the city during the summer. DH is an air traffic controller, super busy in the summer with all the tourists and almost no air traffic in the winter!

My husband and I are both professors. He is at a small private midwestern university at one end of twin towns, I am a prof at the large state university in the other end of the other town! We knew eachother in high school, but didn't date, re-met in grad school and have been married for 20 years. Income as profs isn't great, and we can only vacation during the summer, but it works.

Deep-Thot and I :earsboy: share the same boss :worship: , but I'm in a different franchise of the same company -- I'm a Lutheran minister in south west Ontario. Moving from the congregation in Cambridge I have served for 6½ years to a congregation in Kitchener as of 1 September. I'm not looking forward to saying good-bye :sad2: in 4 weeks.

DW :earsgirl: is a full-time SAHM and a part-time retail sales clerk at a clothing store specializing in tall women.

DD :cutie: is 5½ and will be starting full-time in the Montessori School in September. (She is excited to have many uniform options this year instead of having to wear the same navy blue jumper every day of the week as she did last year.) She is also a full-time princess princess: , but aren't all little girls?

Currently, I take care of the kids and what ever else needs care. Currently we have an new puppy that needs LOTS training. (16 wk Bernese Mtn. Dog, 45lbs.) I'm not sure I stay at home enough to be called a SAHM! LOL!

In my past life, I was a Research Scientist at a university (RIT) where I did research and student support. I worked alongside my DH, who teaches and does research in Color Science.

Guess I should have indicated what I retired FROM--was a U.S. Probation Officer with the Federal Court in Baltimore.
And work part-time at a local Veterinary Hospital.

Uncleromulus - we have something in common. I head up the IT department for Federal Probation in Buffalo (WDNY). I envy you, with the current budget situation I wish I were retired but I've still got a long way to go!

I've been a SAHM (stay at home mom) for the last seven years. Last year I started subbing at my youngest's preschool and this year I'll be a teacher's assistant for the three year olds three days a week.

I from the Government and I'm here to help you :teeth: Actually both DW and I work for the FAA.

I'm a part time ICU nurse and a full time Mom. :)
My DH is a Director at a company that provides software for e-commerce companies. (Or something equally hard to figure out the true meaning of!)

Hey Val,

My DD18 just might be seeing you around campus this year. Many, many years ago, I went to band camp on your DH's campus. Isn't the world small? ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I am a manager for a very well known candle store but in my previous life I was a lead at one of the eleven Disney Castle Stores. Oh how I miss being a cm! :(
