What does Disney do to deal with Norovirus?

I always do a one time cleaning when we check in, focusing on any high traffic surfaces, like door knobs, tv remote, faucet handles, etc. (I use Clorox Healthcare wipes with bleach because they also kills C Diff.) Then a bed bug check and feel like I can settle in, lol! We always wash hands or use hand sanitizer before eating as well. Knocking wood, we've never gotten sick on a trip that I can recall. Maybe we've just been lucky, who knows?

Yes, it can be arranged for guests with special medical issues.

Very good to know! My mom has cancer & a low immune system. They go to WDW a few times per year & I know that her catching an illness is always a concern for us.

Along those thoughts....

Use your hand drying towel to open the public washroom door. I see too often inadequate or no hand washing after using the restrooms.

I feel cabins don't really extra cleaning. Disease is more likely spread on handrails and door knobs.

I do use a blacklight on the first time I enter my cabin or hotel room to see where I need to direct staff to do some "spot" cleaning on walls, carpets, or other surfaces.

how do you get that blacklight through checked bag security?

This made me smile :) My kids always get a chuckle out of my hotel room cleaning routine. They know that essentially everything is hands off in the room until I do my thing!! I think there is a slightly anxious side of my personality that feeds into this behaviour…lol

LOL, me too. Everyone makes fun of me while I run around cleaning the room and checking for bed bugs!

Expose yourself to germs all year round. Build up your immune system that way. Then maybe your body will fight off a virus better? I'm not a crazy germ person and my kids rarely get sick. Fingers crossed that we never get sick at Disney.

I totally agree the exposure is good for immunity. However, norovirus is ever changing and one never really builds immunity to it because of this. They are finding that the only thing that helps you avoid this is genetics (possibly) and avoiding coming into contact with the 20 particles or whatever ridiculously small amount of the virus it is to induce sickness.

I'm often barefoot in my hotel rooms.... black light warns me of places where I need to avoid ugly spots. Sticky surfaces on desks, furniture sides and walls from a juicebox is my most common issue from previous guests.

The black light will show you where the cleaning rag didn't do a good job... especially on wall switches and around the bathroom.
