What does a gold Loew's card do for you?

I recently got my Gold Loew's card in the mail. I previously had the blue card. Now with the higher rates, will the gold card do anything for us?

The Loews Gold or Platinum cards do nothing to get you a lower rate. They could perhaps get you a room upgrade. You would have to book a standard room at rack rate and inquire about being upgraded. There is no guarantee you will be upgraded. If you use any other type discount to book your room, supposedly you are not eligible for Loews First privileges. Oh...and your Loews card is supposed to get you a welcome gift, newspaper and late checkout.

Go to loewshotels.com and click on Loews First. It will describe the benefits of Loews First, Loews Gold and Loews Platinum.

You should have received a letter along with your gold card explaining the benefits.

what does a blue card do for a person? can it get discounts or upgrades?

I also just received my gold card in the mail, and I expect that it will do the same as the blue card did for me - nothing.

We always book at a reduced rate, and they will give you none of the benefits at a reduced rate. If you want to pay rack rate, you will get the "free welcome gift" and possibly a room upgrade, but it just isn't worth it to pay rack rate.

I have used my Loews card for a free bottle of wine on three occasions. This year is the first time that I have actually will be using the gold card benefit. With a gold card you can request and reserve an upgrade to a premium (deluxe) room at reservation time. I was able to get a deluxe room at the HRH for the price of the rack rate of garden view room. Since there is five in the family the deluxe room is good fit. Also we are going to UO during peek spring break in March where there are no other discounts. In the past, I was able to buy fan or entertainment discounts that were far better deal than Lowes card upgrade. But is Lowes gold card upgrade was the best deal for our family that I could get. Unless that you are able to always able to stay at OU at off peak times, it maybe the only deal in available.

I am Loews Gold and have always received our "free welcome gift", even when we booked using the Entertainment Rate. Also, the perks are available when you book using a AAA discount. I recently booked using the AAA rate for a standard room at RPR and will receive a waterview room because I am Loews Gold. I am going to ask at check-in if they have a King Suite available. If yes, I should be able to upgrade for $35 per day. I think a lot depends on the person checking you in.

I have had good luck with Loews Gold.

I'm a platinum and it gets me my free welcome milk and cookies (this is what we always ask) and an upgrade to a pool view. I always book a std and always ends up where I can see the parks/pool. But as far as discount, nope. For the past couple of times, I have used my AAA discount. Right now I am paying $234 w/ AAA! OUCH!

Nope just got the card, no letter.

When I received my gold card it was actually ON a letter explaining all the benefits. I had to peel the card off the letter. If I had a scanner, I would post it here, but alas...

Me too! Maybe give a call to Loews First to request the written benefits. This is from the website.
