What do you use the dvc member site for?

I just registered at the dvc member site, and was wondering, what do you all find are the most helpful features on it? Do you actually use it? And if so, what for?

Thanks!

I will look at the room layouts sometimes and the list of member perks before making my Priority Seatings and finishing my plans for a trip. Not much else. I find this site, AllEars.net and Mouseplanet far more useful.

I agree. I haven't been on the members site for over three years. Now, if I could bank/borrow, make reservations, check point totals, availability, etc.. well then that would be a different story.

Sometimes I go to the tours just to hear the music and see the rooms...it's a way for me to get my "DVC fix"...I am SUCH an addict!!!

I use it for looking at point charts when I am in the office or away from home. If you are thinking about trading out, it has the most updated list of trades. I also use it to get that DVC fix and to check the latest perks before an upcoming trip.

I never use it either. The big secret password protected site. Ugh.... :rotfl2:

I ordered discount AP through the site link. I've never used it for much else. There nothing there to draw anyone in.

You'd think DVC management would get a clue. It could be SO much more useful. Room availablity, online ressies, Q&A forum, points available, maybe even PS's. As it is, it's mostly just a big semi-ad - and we're all already owners.

It's really useless except for an occasional DVC fix!

We are registered but we have never used it for anything I don't think we have even been back to it since we registered on it.

Not a whole lot.

A few weeks ago when I spoke with our guide and explained that the DVC website is pretty muhc useless.

She stated that they here that a lot and that are supposely working on a upgrade with usefull information.

I have a vacation timer on it, and I just checked it, we're 41 days away, that just sounds better than the time line below. I primarily go to check the member's perks. We want to eat at Fulton's and I wanted to be sure that lunch also had the discount.

I'm just there for the countdown clock, as well. It's getting darn close to fifty! :cool1:

Bottom line is the website would be more useful as it is to people looking to buy not for people who are already members.

I am still wondering what is so top secret there that it has to be password protected. It is not like it is any information that isnt handed out at the tour. Or is that it? Do they want to make sure people take the tour instead of doing it online...Well, if that is the case then I dont know why they bothered paying a web designer to make that site. It isnt worth the storage space.

Man, do I feel negative...

what doesz it say that when you want to get a comprehensive look at a DVC resort, you go to a private web site rather then the official web site....especially because i dont need to know a secret handshake to get into those sites as well.

I don't use it for much, unless I need a quick Disney fix. I used it a couple of times when I first joined DVC to take the virtual resort tours, and read the perks.

I used it to buy our AP's and I have been using it more recently just so I can check my countdown timer! :goodvibes

It would be soooo nice to at least see availability at the resorts. It would save some time waiting on the phone! They have the ability to do so much with the site but for some reason they aren't doing much with it. JMHO.

The site is a great source for updates on member discounts.

It would be very nice if each individual resort had a page describing the specifics of resort activities for a given week and more indepth descriptions of programs. For example, at Vero Beach, which night are the kids program nights, how much is it, and what are the activities. When are the unbirthday parties scheduled or snokling classes scheduled? What are the ages for these programs, stuff like that. I think that would be helpful as the vacation approached. Which days are game days at Storm Along Bay or what activities are there at the Boardwalk community room. It might help people plan thier activities a little better.
