After a long day at the parks, no matter what shoes we wear, we end up with "Disney" feet. You know, your feet ache, insteps are shot, heels hurt. No blisters, just wore out feet! Have you found a product that helps rejuvenate feet after countless hours of walking, riding and standing? Taking all suggestions!:)

On our last trip my feet hurt tremendously after the third day. Like, to the point where I felt like I couldn't walk anymore. It was so bad that I used bengay on them and that helped so much. The medicine smell wasn't super awesome, but I didn't care - I lathered them up with the stuff before bed, and was able to make it through a park the next day.

(I later found out I had developed plantar fasciitis and I now have insoles to help with that.)

What helps me is I bought very comfortable and expensive sneakers and I only use them a week prior and the week of WDW. We go twice a year! I call them my Disney sneakers!

I also may ice them at night and use the hot tub in the morning to get the blood flowing.

Make sure you don't overly tighten the laces!

In the middle of the day take your shoes off for a few minutes.

Good luck....

Take a frozen water bottle, put it on its side on the floor, roll your foot on it back and forth while you are sitting in a chair. If you can't freeze it, just chill it. You can also use a tennis ball. First one foot a few minutes then the other. Then again. Sit in a tub of warm water and soak your feet. Wear wide enough shoes with good arch support that are not new for the trip. Bring a second pair of a different brand that are also comfortable and supportive and alternate one day this pair, next day the other pair. The shoes will hit your feet in slightly different ways so the exact same touch points won't take a beating every day. Good fitting, comfortable worn in but not worn out walking sneakers with ties, not slip ons. These methods work for arch, sole, and heel pain.

I have plantar fasciitis as well, and can't recommend good supportive shoes enough! The frozen water bottle trick is also priceless. I use just a teeny bit of Aquaphor in between toes and on ball of foot to prevent rubbing. In the evening I use a little Badger Foot Balm after I've washed my feet before bed.

I soak in the bathtub before bed each night, then use a foot file to massage the ache away. During the day a wear a well worn in pair of Sketchers runners. I dont get blisters but just achy feet :)

Just one more thing. Perhaps on the third park day you could take a good sized mid day break in the pool and hot tub and then your resort room bed for an hour. Then go out for night time parade and fireworks. You could even consider a no park day in the middle of your trip, or just a half park day. If after 3 full park days your feet are hurting that much, they are trying to tell you something!

The body shop has this peppermint line of foot care that is awesome. They have a gel, a spray, lotion, etc. I love the gel I usually put it in the fridge and rub it on my feet at night. I also use the lotion and the spray. Go check it out and read the reviews the products are great.

I had terrible problems with my feet at Disney. During one trip, I was in so much pain by the end of the week that I was stopping every few minutes to sit down and rub my feet. I posted a thread here, got plenty of suggestions, and implemented some of them for my following trip. It made a world of difference. I had no pain on my following trip! Here's what I did:

1) I wore either my Nike Airs, which I added $10 gel insoles to, or the Teva Tirras I bought upon recommendation. I wore the Tevas most often, and they were amazingly comfortable for me. The sole is thick and supportive, but they dry easily so they were awesome for water rides and for getting caught in the rain.
2) I brought a disposable foil pan and a bag of epsom salt in my suitcase, and peppermint foot cream. At the end of each night, I filled the pan with cool (not warm) water and the salt, and soaked my feet for ten minutes while watching TV. Then I dried them, applied the cream, and elevated them on a pillow until we went to sleep. I threw the foil pan away before packing to go home.
3) We took a midday break almost every day and swam in the pool. I really think this helped my feet, too, because I sat on the edge of the pool and let my legs and feet float in the water.
4) If I did feel any soreness or anticipated any, I took one Aleve in the morning before we left.

This all was honestly life-changing for me. My third trip was so much more pleasant than my second trip because I could walk without pain. Good luck to you!

Switching shoes helps me tremendously. Really it's the best thing at preventing foot pain.

Suffering from plantar fasciitis right now (brought on by 2 days in a row of heavy walking in the same shoes) and the frozen water bottle trick is working wonders.

Also don't forget to stretch your legs at night (and during the day). Keeping your calf muscles loosened will help the foot muscles too!

I always wear a good fitting athletic shoe and socks and never have had any problems with my feet hurting. Yes, I'm 'over all' tired, but my feet are fine. Could never wear non supporting shoes like flip flops or sandals for long hours on those hard surfaces.

I agree with others on switching shoes, I take 3 pairs and switch them out. I go in the warm weather so I wear different types of sandals, all with good support and cushioning. I also soak in a hot bath every night, mostly for the other old tired bones and muscles and I take a menthol foot balm I rub on before I go to bed. I take two "preventative" aleve every morning before we start out as well.

i've tried them all, have custom orthotics that i would stick in pair of new balance. By end of week my feet were fried. Crocs always managed to give me a blister when i wear them in the parks.

finally embraced Keen sandals for the parks. Have the clearwater ones for water park days & newport H2 for other days...which are quite possibly the most comfortable thing I have ever put on my feet:yay:

1. Good shoes.

2. DH and i give each other foot massages each night with peppermint foot balm.

Look for Johnsons foot soap. It comes in a box with 3 or 4 pouches. Mix with hot water and soak. Once you try it you will never go to Disney with out it.

I have terrible Disney feet with blisters...so I take two aleve in the morning before even leaving for the day. I also bring a small baggie of epsom salt and do a nice warm soak in the tub (feet only) while reading the DIS. For blisters (just in case) moleskin is your friend. Good luck!:yay:

I do the same thing. I always soak my feet in the bathtub before bed. I also have a peppermint lotion I will put on. During the day I wear my Sketcher Go-walks and I have not had blisters and they feel so much better than wearing flip flops all day. I also use moleskin every day due to an awful blister experience! I hope these ideas help! :)
