What do YOU use on your "Disney" feet?!

I love all these tips. I had no idea how bad my feet would hurt even after the 2nd day. I did switch shoes, but I still got blisters. I used Earth Therapeutics Reflexology Foot Massage Lotion, moleskin, and what I thought were comfortable walking shoes, but my feet ached every night. I soaked them in the pool and let the hot tub jets massage them. I iced them in the bath tub, wrapped in cold iced towels. I need to find better walking shoes, socks, and sandal. I get plantar fasciitis too so I hope I can manage to relieve my feet, avoid blisters, and take some pain meds. I hope for everyone in my family too.

after long day I soak my feet/legs in cool bath water and alway elevate legs at night (a few pillows under knees/feet while i sleep). when I'm visiting for more than an week I bring down peppermint leg/foot cream to rub onto feet and calves.

NEVER bring brand new shoes with me

My whole family uses Body Glide. Rub it all over your feet, not just the bottom or the heels. I used to even get blisters on the tops of my feet at WDW. The Body Glide has completely stopped them. I used to get blisters every time I got a new pair of shoes too. Now I use it at home for both DD and I with new shoes. It works great for that too!

These are wonderful tips for my mother and I - we'll be going in September and both have body issues. We know that we will be sore at the end of each day so anything that will give relief we will try! What brands of sandals, flip-flops or sneakers does everyone recommend? I really love my Disney Vans but they are NOT walking shoes! Could they be if I added a really good insole?

I've always had good luck with the sketcher's with "memory foam" i Think they are supposed to be runner shoes.

Those were the only way i could walk last year. The last couple days of the trip my toes were so blistered up it was causing me to limp. My dad gave me his skechers with the memory foam and it was the greatest thing in the world at the time.

I'm going to check out that body glide stuff listed above for this year's trip(and I now own my own pair of those skechers!)

I bring multiple pairs of broken in and comfortable sneakers and hiking sandals with me, as well as a pair of the flip flop style sandal I wear at home all the time. Lots of extra socks. Any time I'm close to my resort, I change shoes and socks. Before I put socks on, I coat my feet with Aquaphor. If I'm just around the resort or just going to dinner (not a lot of walking involved), I wear my comfortable flip flops so my feet can breathe. Moleskin any problem areas immediately. Peppermint foot lotion and socks before I go to bed.

I like the idea of bringing a disposable roasting pan and Epsom salts - going to have to steal that idea (we always do a grocery store run when we get there so I can do that rather than packing it).

I also make sure that my daughter and I are walking a LOT the 2 months before a trip - we usually do 5-6 mile walks on the weekends both days and get a 2 mile walk in the evenings when possible. It helps tremendously to both break in shoes if you get new ones and condition yourselves to that kind of abuse to your feet.

I bring a full pedicure kit with me so I can take care of any toenail issues ASAP - I am prone to getting ingrown nails so this is crucial for me. So that includes a foot file, nail clippers, cuticle scissors, nail files, cracked heel relief cream, peppermint foot cream, foot scrub, Aquaphor.

If you don't get regular pedicures, don't get an "I'm going on vacation!" pedi before you leave, because if you don't have a regular manicurist you trust, they can make a mess of cutting your nails. I usually go to my podiatrist about a week before for a proper nail cut.

Nothing more miserable than being at Disney with sore feet.

The body shop has this peppermint line of foot care that is awesome. They have a gel, a spray, lotion, etc. I love the gel I usually put it in the fridge and rub it on my feet at night. I also use the lotion and the spray. Go check it out and read the reviews the products are great.

Thanks! Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for, and we have a Body Shop in our local mall so I will definitely check it out!

BEST THREAD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put the stopped down in the shower and let the tub fill and soak my feet as I shower. Love the ice bottle idea too! AND rotate shoes. You have given me several more great options!

I cover my feet in Vaseline and wear non cotton footies and Skechers Go Walks. It sounds gross and messy but it's not. I always had blisters after the first couple of days but I tried this last August, two weeks and not one blister!
