What do you think...re: tattoo ideas UPDATED again 7/10 I DID IT!!!

Very well said.
OP, looks great! How long have you had it? Has it started the icky flaking yet?

I've had it a little over 2 weeks now. It did the itchy flaky thing (which was awful, lol!). I ran into the tattoo artist that did it while my brother was having work done and he wants to recolor it sometime. I'm scared, lol.

That's not uncommon for an all-black tattoo from what I understand. It'll just even out the color. :thumbsup2

Its not bad to have them recolored. They don't hurt/itch/flake hardly at all. I had to have one recolored after one got a scab over it healing and it cracked and left a big white line through the black. You can't even tell now.:thumbsup2

OP, I think it looks great! I love the design. Don't even give a second thought to anyone who will rag on you about it. You have to feel sorry for them because they are small minded and judgemental.

I want to get a "tramp stamp". I have a scar from back surgery and would like to do something on top of it. Not sure if you can even do that. I'm still looking for the design I want. I want something Celtic and I want a lightening bolt with it. I'll know it when I see it.

Now I need to figure out where I'm putting it. I want to be able to see it myself, but be hidden for work. I'd thought of placing it on my shoulder, but that won't work. Now that knee length skirts are out, it may go on my ankle.

You could always do the inside of the ankle too - for a bit more discretion.... just a thought. Or inside calf.... :confused3

There's a door hangy thing at WDW I bought... its white with a black Mickey head out-line, with a Mickey shadow in the center of the outline - that shadow where one hand is up and one hand is on his hip.... it says: Bienvenidos!..

ANYWAYS - ( I tend to ramble  ) I bought it cuz it would make a FABULOUS "Tramp Stamp" Or tattoo anywhere, really...

Ill take a pic tonight and post. Its super cool! :thumbsup2

I've been debating getting one for the longest time and every time one of these threads appears I think about it again. DN has 3 and has been encouraging me because I'm her "cool aunt" that would do it.

I'd love a sorcerer mickey-he's my favorite. For those of you that have had them done-where is a place that can be covered by clothing and is going to hurt the LEAST. I'm a real baby about pain....

Cathryn,

I'm thinking inside ankle. After the surgery on the left leg (and future surgery), I know that the right won't be cut up. That's my big fear with doing the leg. A fellow DISer has a minnie on her ankle and in reconstruction surgery, the orthopedist was very careful not to cut the ink.

I've got about a dozen knee length skirts I won't ever wear to work again since the leg looks so nasty. So a tattoo on the ankle probably would be safe for me.

And THAT is all that matters:thumbsup2
Did you draw them yourself???

Yea I did draw them myself. The tattoo artists changed mine a bit.

Fitswimmer- Don't get it where I did, lol. Hurt!!! Mostly toward my shoulder blades and of course when Mickey was colored in.

CathrynRose can't wait to see that pic!!!

I've talked to my tattoo guy about this before and he tells me you can't tattoo over scar tissue or stretch marks. Trust me, I've been trying to find a way to cover up the stretch marks.

The one I have on my back was there before I had surgery, and now that its been cut open it looks like this.

See the incision scar going right up through the middle? Sorry its a bit blurry. It can't be fixed. Sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe you can get something around it?

mainstmandy and CathrynRose ~ I think you guys both have cute tattoos and some people are just rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do think it is an art. It is all about the person and how they feel.
It's crazy how some people let some things bother them when it has nothing to do w/ them.

The chest barely hurts at all.:thumbsup2

The hip bone where I got mine hurt some.

My fiance said the ones that hurt him the most were the ones behind the ears. - He also has tattoos on his throat and inner arms.

Very nice OP! I got my first one at 21 and my second one at 33. I would love to get more but I am not sure of how many is too many?
