What do you think...re: tattoo ideas UPDATED again 7/10 I DID IT!!!

strange, I've never seen a person in a boardroom with a spider tatt on his neck.

art hangs in galleries, not on a bicep.

Ummm then you haven't been looking around that much......there are plenty of men and women who are in suits for work.....that have a lot of tats....the DA for the capital of Me. has over 12 and some will peek out of his shirt collar...............................oh and ART is everywhere, only a close minded person would think it was only on Walls...................I am a child advocate and a certified special ed sub and I have over 15.............Go ahead Judge me.....:sad2:

you have your opinions and I have mine.. .tattoos are white trash 'art', nothing more, nothing less.

I'm quite sure they'll look phenomenal in your 60's. enjoy them in the meantime, they're soooooo attractive.

OP- I think it looks fantastic!

Tattoos are every where, it doesn't make the person bad, or dumb if they have one, they are works of art. No one is making you get one so it doesn't effect you.

I realized I never updated this post! I went through with it even thought i hurt like a you know what!!!

I Love it!! I have two and I want another one. I'm thinking the next one may be a Mickey head.

I look at a woman sporting a tattoo or body piercing as *****ish.
I look at a man wearing a tattoo or body piercing as a second-class citizen

And certainly not an asterisk,asterisk,asterisk,asterisk,asterisk

You have every right in the world to your own opinion, but you should try not to offend people by voicing it.

That looks awesome! I love it!!:thumbsup2
NEAT-O!!! LOVE IT!!!! :thumbsup2

This is mine - just last week - I'm "Danny" (my son's ears) and my g/f is "Breanna" (her daughters ears....)

Kinda bad pic - but I wanted to show mine off too! :goodvibes :lmao:

That one looks really nice, too! I love it!
I've heard another (worse) name for them! :rolleyes1
I haven't heard that one, just the previous one.:confused3

I have a very good job and maintained a 4.0 GPA all through high school and college. You must be in the wrong boardrooms.

Wow you guys were really busy trashing me (and others) while I was sleeping. At least you did it while I could defend myself:rolleyes:

I think some of you need to reread the title of my thread... I didn't ask for your opinion ON tattoos but on my ideas and then to show what I had decided. Thanks for your input but I'm not interested in your ideas.

As for it being crooked, I kinda thought so too, but talked to my brother who was there with me and the ARTIST (who is a good friend of my brother's) and was assured it's not. To be perfectly honest, even if it is slightly (definitely not 10 degrees!), who cares??? I love it!!

anyone watch LA Ink on the learning channel?

kat von D is covered in tattoos! (and she's really pretty, besides!)

If you're happy that's all that matters. I have three :thumbsup2

As to the person asking about someone being in a boardroom with tats- what about that disney imagineer we see on all of the shows that has all kinds of ink and the plug piercings in his ears? You can't tell me he's not showed up at board meetings. Ink belongs on anyone that wants it- if someone has a problem with it, that's their issue, not the person that has them.

I love it!!!!!! The placement is cool too. However, I really want to get one, but I want to be able to look at it and admire it, so I'm torn about where I would want to put it, lol.

See I love where I put mine...I can cover it up at work, no one has any idea I have it, but it looks GREAT in tanks and cute dresses. My brother wants to get matching ones with me but I have NO idea where I would put one.

OP - Love the tat. Mind if I steal some of your first page ideas for my next one?

BTW - I have tat's and I do most of my work in a boardroom. My ink is a part of my personality, if someone doesn't like me just because I have a tat chances are they wouldn't like me even if I didn't have one.

That was very well said:thumbsup2

And sure! Steal away, lol.

Mandy, I like what you went with. It's well placed, and even if it is crooked, it shows that you didn't use a stencil!

There has been such a shift in the past 5 years. I can't tell you how many of my SUPERIORS (and I'm in management) now have tasteful tattoos. They are well hidden, but when the opportunity presents to wear casual clothes, suprise!

I'm joining the ranks of having one done. For years, I'd wanted a sorceror mickey hat on my hip. Then, I fell in love with the idea of having stitch wearing the hat a little askew. (only because I don't think Mary Poppins would make a good tat).

Then, this past Mother's day, my son gave us a small gift of imagination. He's got Asperger's syndrome, and tends to be a concrete thinker whose every thought is black and white. He imagined up this little guy:
jedifroguq2.jpg

Rowena was kind enough to find this image when I described my mother's day gift. Another DISer mentioned a tattoo artist in Tampa and I've talked with him.

Now I need to figure out where I'm putting it. I want to be able to see it myself, but be hidden for work. I'd thought of placing it on my shoulder, but that won't work. Now that knee length skirts are out, it may go on my ankle.

people who have tattoos:
:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

suck it up, not everyone thinks they're 'art'. I think they're disgusting, especially on women.

If you are so against tattoos why are you on this thread?
More people have tattoos than you think.

To the OP: I love your tattoo!

I have a celtic knot on my hip. I've been debating on getting another one near my knee but paying for my wedding first.

OP - If YOU are happy with it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's a personal decision anyway :) I still think it's really cool! :goodvibes

Do you have any pics? Since we are Irish my brother and I were thinking of this...it's the second pendant

Very well said.
OP, looks great! How long have you had it? Has it started the icky flaking yet?
