What do you think of this plan? And what to do about breakfast?

My dh, myself, and our 2 boys are going to WDW in late September 2009. Yes, I know I'm probably OCD planning the restaurants this early, but oh well. Anyway, our boys will be 2 years old and almost 4 years old. We will be staying for 7 nights at the AKL. I want to do CS lunches and TS dinners.

Day 1: We check in, probably around 3:00-4:00pm. After we unpack, we go to Downtown Disney and eat dinner at Planet Hollywood.

Day 2: We're going MK. We'll eat lunch at the Columbia Harbor House and dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

Day 3: We're going to Epcot. We'll start off the day with a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. We'll eat lunch at Sunshine Seasons. We'll eat dinner at Le Cellier.

Day 4: We're either going to BB or TL (I haven't figured out which water park yet). We're going to wing it for lunch. We'll eat dinner at Boma.

Day 5: We're going to MGM. We'll eat lunch at the Backlot Express and we'll eat Dinner at the Hollywood Brown Derby.

Day 6: We're going to AK. We'll eat lunch at the Flame Tree Barbecue. dinner will be at the Rainforest Cafe.

Day 7: We're going to MK again. We'll have lunch at Comic Ray's Starlight Cafe. Dinner will be at Tony's Town Square Restaurant.

Day 8: We check out, stow our stuff, and revisit some favorite rides.

So what do you all think? Does my dining plan look good? And what should I do about breakfast on the days other than when we have the character breakfast?

First of all, I'd like to say you aren't OCD. Most of the posters on these boards will tell you that you can never plan a Disney vacation and ADRs too early.

I started seriously planning our June, 2008 trip during the drive home from our June, 2007 trip. We had a lot of time to think too since the drive is between 14 and 16 hours. We go to Disney every year and know that we're going back the next year. While we are on one vacation, we are talking about our next vacation and where we are going to stay and eat.

That being said, I think your ADRs look good. We have never eaten at Boma so I can't comment on whether or not you two boys would like the food there.

We always eat at Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood. There are a lot of people who are going to say they don't care for either of them. We like the food at both and loved the atmosphere too. At Rainforest Cafe, I order the sampler appetizer plate as an entree so I can get a little bit of everything. The Volcano dessert is to die for! At Planet Hollywood, the lasagna is sooo good. It's not the normal lasagna. It's a stuffed shell, coated in bread crumbs and then cooked. Really yummy!

As far as breakfast goes, we aren't big breakfast eaters so I can't offer too much information on those. When we do decide to eat breakfast, we normally just pick something up from our resort's food court, take it back to the room and eat while getting ready to head to the parks. If we don't do that, we just have a snack in the room to hold us until lunch and we'll try to eat a bit earlier than the crowds.

Hope you have a great trip!

AKL is my favorite resort and the restaurants are a big part of that. I did breakfasts at the Mara for most of the days I was there. It is slightly larger than the other deluxe's CS places (though smaller than the food courts at the mods or values) with a good amount of seating. They have breakfast platters which count as CS on the DDP and come with 2 drinks each or use snack credits to get cereal, oatmeal, pastries... and drinks.

If you want to do another TS, Boma's brekfast buffet is also nice.

I only have one comment about your plan, which looks great to me.

Day 3: We're going to Epcot. We'll start off the day with a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. We'll eat lunch at Sunshine Seasons. We'll eat dinner at Le Cellier.

I think that this could be too much food for one day, and much more food than your other days. I'd skip Sunshine Seasons, or get one meal to split between you and DH. If you have a buffet breakfast at 7:00 or 8:00, you probably won't be hungry for lunch until 1:00 or so. Sunshine Seasons has larger portions (from what I remember), so if you eat a big lunch at 1:00 you may not be hungry for your dinner until very late, if you get hungry again at all.

I'd get a snack in the WS on this day, or grab a brat with kraut in Germany for lunch as you work your way around WS.

I'd mix up the TS meals a bit - some at lunch, some at dinner. We planned mostly TS dinners on our trip this past month, but our 22mo and 5yo boys did MUCH MUCH better on days when we had a big lunch and a lighter dinner (we went back for a nap/break after lunch). So, we ended up making some last minute ADRs mid-trip for lunches (and cancelled some of our dinner ADRs) which meant that we had a lot less to pick from.

Just something to think about!
