lol!the op can't post because when she arrived at the party with one present, the two party moms grabbed her by the hair and attempted to toss her out.
The one other brave mother, just walking up the steps with her solitary present, leaps into the air and kneecaps party mom 1 while simultaneously rescuing the op and tossing party mom 2 into the geraniums.
The police are called, both party moms are sent to the slammer, op and brave mom are annointed as super good etiquette heroines, the presents are tossed into a large bucket and divided randomly between the two kids, and peace prevails.
Well, maybe not, but that's the ending we were hoping for...

Sorry I have not posted an update yet!!
Well, I did not meet the brave mom who told them how tacky they were, lol. She was not there when I dropped my son off or when I picked him up. I asked if they wanted me to "hang around and help out" so I could spy, lol, but they said no it's okay just go ahead and enjoy your freedom or something like that.
So I left.
BUT, I was talking to the one mom after the party and I asked her about it, I said kind of jokingly, "So did everyone follow the rules and bring two gifts?"
This is how it broke down, out of the 10 guests: (And yes, they took note of each gift and who brought what.)
6 people brought equal gifts, 2 people brought a larger gift for one boy than the other (I was one of those meanies, lol), and two brought only one gift for one boy (I guess there was more than 1 "brave mom").
Now, get this, one party mom was COMPLAINING about some of the people who brought two equal gifts! They followed orders, so what could they possibly have done to anger party mom, you ask? Well, in their effort to be equal, they failed to make sure that both boys liked the same thing...so one person brought some sort of Lego set for their friend, so they bought the exact same Lego set for the other boy. Except the other boy doesn't like Lego so they were whining that he got that!!!
Um, isn't that what you get when you tell people to keep things equal...I guess next year it will be specified to get two equal gifts but make sure they are individually chosen. I wanted to tell her that normally you buy gifts for someone you actually know, so you might have some clue, but whatever.
This is a woman I am really wondering about now. Our sons are close so we talk but
Anyway, that was the update.
I'll let you all know if they have a party next year!![]()
Those two moms take "whiney, tacky, gift-grabbing, greedy, ignorant, ungrateful, clueless witches" to a whole new level. I'm amazed they didn't just charge an entrance fee, with enough mark-up to make a tidy profit for themselves.![]()
HA....I've been following this thread because the tacky invite cracked me up, BUT, my DH's cousin and his fiance are having a baby this summer and we got the invite to the baby shower......IT'S POT LUCK. It asks everyone to bring a dish to share. Is it me or is this not rude too? I hosted a bridal shower along with 2 other bridesmaids, and we did it at a small tea house (w/a specialized limited menu for our event) but we picked up the tab for the entire party. I would have never invited people to a shower and then expect them to pay for their food.
Unfortunately, I can't go to shower because I'll be moving that weekend, but my MIL (and aunt to the daddy-2-b) is miffed by this too and she's the type to say something about it. Bring a gift AND food.....strange!
