What do you think of our ADR's?!

I never thought I'd be one of those people who asked other people what they thought about their food, but now... I am!!! Eeeek!

I really am wondering what the Disney experts will have to say about our dining choices!

Here's a little rundown first.

There's me (25) and my boyfriend (27), and this is our first time to Disney! Actually, our first time to the USA - we're from Australia. Disneyworld is in the middle of our 7 week USA adventure.

Neither of us like seafood, and I'm not much of a red-meat eater. Apart from that, we're not that fussy. I love pastas and salads and burgers and all that good stuff. :thumbsup2

We'll be on the free dining plan, and because it's our first time, we wanted a mix of fun restaurants (50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi) and nice relaxing ones (The Plaza). We figure even if the food's not that great, it's free! :Pinkbounc

So here's our choices...

Wednesday - Lunch @ Sci Fi Dine In, 12.30pm

Thursday - Lunch @ The Plaza Restaurant, 12.40pm
Dinner @ Boma, 7pm

Friday - Dinner @ 'Ohana, 8.45pm
(We're having a day trip to Kennedy Space Center this day, and won't get back til late, hence the late eating time. We're also seriously considering changing this ADR to Grand Floridian Cafe, because I'm not much of a meat eater and it seems a bit nicer. What do you think?)

Saturday - Lunch @ Le Cellier, 12.40pm

Sunday - Dinner @ Spoodles, 7pm

Monday - Dinner @ 50's Prime Time, 7.10pm

We haven't worked out our exact counter service meals yet. I made a little list of places I like the sound of, according to where we'll be for each day, but we'll just wait and see what we feel like at the time.

So, what do you think? Are our choices varied enough? Will we be eating the same thing all week? Any changes or recommendations?!

Thanks everybody!! :cool1:

I'd keep 'Ohana. It's more than just "meat" the sides are fantastic as well - on top of the food the whole atmosphere is nice with the view of MK at night and chances are with that late ADR you'll be there to see Wishes! If you WERE going to change - I'd recommend WCC at the Wilderness Lodge - it's hokey, down home, "American" humor with good "american" food - we really like it there :)

Your choices look good to me, with one BIG exception! I would change that lunch reservation at the Sci Fi, to the Brown Derby. I make this recomendation for two reasons, (1) The food and service at the Sci Fi is generally poor, and (2) The food and service at the Brown Derby is generally excellent.

Enjoy.

To be honest, I just didn't fancy a restaurant with the word "brown" in the title.

It's our first day at WDW - we just wanted to do something fun and Disney-ish, which is why we chose Sci-Fi...

We have eaten at both Sci-Fi & Brown Derby & really liked both. I would probably rather pay out of pocket for Sci-Fi, since the meal at Brown Derby would be significantly more. I would have to agree that the food at Brown Derby is EXCELLENT; however, we really did enjoy Sci-Fi. We're not huge eaters (well my DH can certainly eat more than me!), but we split an nice salad & a turkey sandwich & shared a milkshake & felt very satisfied without feeling ill running around a hot park after eating.

It was a lot of fun eating in those cars (request a seat in a car when you check in) & watching those old sci fi clips!

I love the BD but we also love Sci-Fi as well. You can get great quality food anywhere but where else can you eat your food in a fake drive in, in a fake car while watching corny clips of old American sci-fi movies?? Stick with burgers etc at Sci-FI and you'll be fine. Make sure you get some onion rings and milkshakes too!

Are the onion rings really big!?

I've seen photos of them, and they look massive!

I've only ever had little onion rings, which I love, but they're not too oniony. These ones at Sci-Fi look like they're made from a whole onion! I don't know if I could handle that!
