what do you spend for a haircut?

The salon I go to (usually twice a year) currently charges $22 for a shampoo, blow-dry, style. And I usually tip $5. Last time I went the stylist talked me into buying a few products too so I ended up paying a total of $64. :(

I won't let that happen again. I honestly don't feel that the salon products are better than anything sold in department stores.

Love my stylist, go every 6 weeks, I pay a very reasonabe $16. for a wash, cut, style, w/$4 tip. :goodvibes

I won't get into our DD's and what they pay to keep hair looking nice. :rotfl2:

I have paid well over $200,000 now, but that is for unlimited haircuts. I am still being charged on an infrequent basis though.....

My wife cuts my hair. I've bought her a house, several cars, appliances, now a Disney trip, and other various expenses....

The day my wife comes home with a ridiculous $75 bill for a haircut would be the day I shave her head. That's outragous.

Ditto, I've been cutting DH's hair for 45 yrs. :thumbsup2

Due to the economy, I had to switch. I used to pay $70, not including the tip, but I switched over to a place where a few friends go (I like their hair), and I'm only paying $35 (not including tip). Sure, no fresh flowers in the lobby, no iced tea, lemon water, k-kups, bagel, everyone is not wearing black... I'm so proud of me!

I pay $75 for the cut, $15 for the tip, so total $90. I wear my hair long, so I go about once every 3-4 months or so.

I have no idea...LOL. I have medium length hair and I get foil highlights and lowlights, wash, cut, style and eyebrow wax for $90. I used to tip $15 but now I do $10 since my stylist recently bought the salon and is now the owner. Felt weird to not continue tipping her, but I did reduce it a bit. I have no idea how much just the cut would be :confused3

Wow! I'm amazed at the good prices for the foils, root work, etc.

I was paying close to $300 for all of that (including shampoo, cut and style) so you will understand when I said enough.

I'm in the process of growing out the color, as I cannot be paying that much to keep up with the salon look. I am now looking for another stylist too.

I tried one and paid $40 for a shampoo, cut and style and hated the work. My hair was uneven! Ugh.

So now I have an appointment for a shampoo, CONSULT, cut and style. It's a $130 price tag but my workplace is paying for it as a Christmas gift. If I like the work, I'll continue with the stylist.

The single most challenging thing for me is to find a stylist professional that can work with my horrible hair and make it look decent. Ugh.

My stylist charges $25 for wash, cut and style. I give a $5 tip. I also let her wax my eyebrows each time I go and that is $10. From what I understand, this is the average price where I live.

I pay $12 for a haricut and style. My stylist works out of her home, so I don't tip.

If I get foil highlights, it is $36. A regular color is $26.

She does a great job too. Since her prices are so reasonable, she has a long waiting list to see her. I couldn't imagine paying more than 20 bucks just to get my hair trimmed!

I don't get just a cut. I go about every 4 weeks (sometimes 5) cause have outgrowth that has to be touched up.
I pay 55 for the color/cut/style (plus tip).

Shave and a haircut: two bits.

Note: a bit is now considered $10.00

I go for just a shampoo and trim, no blow drying. $19.20 plus $10 tip for hairdresser and $2 for shampoo girl. I go home and dry it myself.

$45 for a haircut, $75 for highlights, and $45 for all over color. And this is with the 'friends and family' discount. I have been going to her for years(following from place to place) and have sent her at least a dozen new clients.

NOVA Haircuttery 4X/year:

$21 shampoo/cut/blow dry
$4-$5 tip

DH spends nothing as he does it himself:thumbsup2.

$200.00

Includes shampoo, cut, highlights/lowlights (foil), style, tips. Eyebrow threading is an additional $25.00.

Great stylist, I have been going to her for years and you definitely get what you pay for. She is so meticulous, the cut alone usually takes an hour. Only thing that annoys me is that she is so good her appts are always 6-8 weeks out. And you better make your holiday appts in June. Although I am happy I can even get in as she is no longer taking new clients and there is a huge waiting list.
