Since the room is all paid for.;)

Soup to nuts what do you guys figure for a daily dollar amount for your trips. I mean everything from when you set foot on property to when you wave goodbye to the Mouse on your last day. (no room or plane fare).
So how many are you, and how much money doy you figure a day?
TIA :goodvibes

But I would guess between 200-300 average a day for a family of 5,we usually eat breakfast and supper in our 2 br.

This should be a bunch of interesting responses....We figured $200 a day for our family of 4.

For our family of 4 - generally between 200 - 300 a day, depends on whether we have additional activities planned. We always try and do one or two extra special things while we are there as well, that can add to the cost.

We eat breakfast in our room, maybe one or two other meals - but most of the time we eat out.

Typically, $50.00 to $75.00 per person per day is probably a good estimate.

For our family of 5 we've most likely run about 300-350 a day (especially if you do the dining plan, but that's another whole topic). We have 10 day no expiry park hopper (with the pools) that we bought a while ago and are still using, so that helps cut the cost (more days=less per day) and then depending on what we do in terms of t-shirts, etc.
The real question is what do YOU want to spend on your vacation per day? :confused3 You could do a whole vacation without entering the parks at all (seems like blasphemy doesn't it?):scared1:. There are lots of things at the resorts to do, pool hopping, mini golf, and making all your meals in the villa, watching the Wishes fireworks from the beach at the Poly, Movies popcorn::at the beach at BWV, etc. All of those would knock the cost way down.:cheer2:

We spend about 250$ day for food and tips plus our park tickets. We dont spend much on souvenirs at this point. If we dont go to the parks, we probably trade some of that food expense for mini-golf or something like that. We could DEFINITELY spend much less on food/tips daily if we tried even a little bit!!!

We often find that the dining plan works out for us to keep costs down, but it really depends on where we want to go and eat for the trip. I think that our next trip - Dec 2010 - we might actually skip the dining plan because there are a few places we want to try that dont accept it...but we'll see when I make our ADRs later this year!

Exactly what I'd say! When I go solo, I plan on $65 per day. I like to have all the money with me and don't like to charge anything, or if I do, I put X amount in my checking account before I go, then only charge the X amount. Maybe that sounds a little strange, but I was a math major in college, then an engineer, so I'm pretty precise when it comes to numbers. So please forgive me! You might get away with a little less for a large family, who might be sharing a few of the big meals. That's the only disadvantage I've found with solo at WDW-throwing away a fair amount of food because I've got no one to share meals with.

I would say less than $40 person, not counting park tickets. We eat in the room for breakfast, b/c it is quick and easy, then buy a couple of CS meals at the parks and take cheese, PBJ, snacks, juice boxes in a small lunchbag and then do a sit-down dinner (Le Cellier for 5 of us was $125), or we all get a large CS lunch and then we come back to room and grill/make tacos, etc. for dinner. We are not big "cookers" in the DVC kitchens, but we do simple meals or use the grills. I do not count groceries on vacation in the budget, as we would get them at home anyway. The kids do not get many, if any, souvenirs. They pin trade and we buy them prior to leaving online. Having the kitchen can really save you $ over a week, even if you just use it minimally. Elaine

Ok if you don't count in food (we did DDP) or park tix (we pre-paid those), it was probably between $40 & $50 for 6 of us. We found that other than waters we didn't really snack as much there, too hot to walk and snack in June.

Well, we usually eat breakfast in the room and have a qick service lunch and then eat a sit down dinner.

Park Day--$650ish
Non-Park Day---$400ish

A DAY ???? REALLY what does that include tickets? I am not judjing I a hoping that includes a lot of stuff I won't buy lol

We have 3 boys, 2 under age 3, so we are not in full fledged spend mode... and with a mid-day nap and some pool time, we are pretty cheap...

I would say we are in the 125-175 per day with a family of 5...

our last trip we ate breakfast and lunch in the room (becuase of naps) and suppers were about 50/50!

For a family of 4, with 3 and 5 year old kids, the meal plan is $100/day - it would be $160/day for 4 adults. Park tickets are $200-300/day for the same family, depending on what add-ons you get and how may days you buy (10 day non-expiring gives you a pretty good per day price, even with park-hopper, but you have to buy days in advance.)

I can't think of other mandatory expenses, but there are plenty of other options to spend money in the parks and on property. If you're going to be eating out at other properties, a rental car is nice to have.

Things add up fast, unfortunately, but it's still a great vacation. We're thinking that we might split our next WDW trip between BLT and Vero Beach - make the park days more action packed, but get out of town for some cool down days before heading home.

Never really broke it down in a "per day" kind of way. We just figure overall expenses.

Room is taken care of by DVC.

Other expenses:
Airfare (although, last time we drove. That saved on transportation.)
Dining plan for 2 adults
Money for tips and alcoholic beverages
Park tickets

We don't really buy tons of stuff. We each usually get a new Tshirt and then we buy a few little things for family back home - especially the nieces.

This coming trip, we're doing two meals out of pocket in addition to the dining plan. That's it. Other than a bottle of water here or there, we don't have any other expenses. Not sure how that comes out in a per-day calculation. I have two degrees in music, not math! :)

I guess we're one of the few folks that actually use the villa kitchen. Other than our park tickets, we usually eat 2 ADRs and maybe 3 CS on a 7 day trip and eat most of our meals in the villa. Averaging out our grocery costs and meals, I'm thinking we spend $80/day on food for our family of four not counting park tickets. We don't buy too many souvenirs or snacks in the parks, so I'll say $100/day family of 4 without park tickets.

We have our passes, don't eat out a lot, and are pretty restrained with souvenirs and toys. For food in our room, that's all part of the normal household budget (we're going to be grocery shopping whether we're in Disney or not) so I don't add it, I just stick to the budget.

.. so for the three of us, about $80 a day including meals. Sometimes less, sometimes more ... it depends on this mom's mood ;)

... the problem with this sort of a question is do you include Passes? Dining Plan? Car Rentals? Groceries? and how do you compare yours to others who do include those items? There are so many different ways to count the baseline and then add expenses on from there.

We just got back. We did the DDP for a family of 5 (3A and 2C) for 8 days $1200 it works out to be about $240.00 a day plus tip which ranged between $18 and $25 a dinner (18% traveled with others as well). We had about $800.00 in gift certs and cash. We came home with about $30 bucks. This included all tips, Pirate League (3 kids the $50 pkg), beers and margaritas, souviniers. So basically we spent about $2,000.00
