What do you really think when you see someone alone at WDW?

go by yourself have fun - that is what I say

I think nothing when i see someone by themselves, you never know what anyone is up to!

My problem is I go with my DS 7 by myself and I am 23 - when I checked into the grand floridan last time, I was asked where my mom was so we could check in, I said I am it, they said but you have to be 21 to get a room, I said I was (and am) I guess this person could not figure out a a person of my age with a 6 year old (at the time) could afford to stay there 8 nights, well my card did not bounce lol then they shut up quick . . . :cheer2:

:cloud9: Heaven! Alone at WDW to do what I want, whenever I want!

I go alone all the time, I have Disney seasonal passes and AP's to the other florida parks so I go often. The way I look at it, is I love being there when others can come with me and I love being there solo. Now I don't catch a plane and plan out a trip, I'm a couple hours away by car so I get up at dawn to be at the parks by 9:30 to 10 am. If I can be there 2-4 days, great, If I have to drive back on the same day it's not as great but I had more fun that day than anything else I would have done.If I lived far away and had to plan the trip out and take a plane to do a solo trip, I would do it without even thinking about it. As many times as I've gone to the parks I definitely notice solo travelers, and anybody who feels sorry for them just doesn't get it .These people are having fun and that's what its alll about!!

I just booked a return WDW vacation for Feb 5-10. Booked at the VWL where we've stayed 3 times already - 01, 04 and 05 - so I really do feel at home there.
Just returned from a 2week vacation w/DS13. At times I went to the parks (shopped, rides) while he rested for a few hours. I never thought funny at all being alone. Noone knows if family is behind in the room, at other rides, etc. Often took walks alone to Ft Wilderness from WL and from BCV to both Boardwalk, MGM and EpCot. Went out a few times at night to see Illuminations by myself.
Have not eaten at a table service by myself yet. Not sure about that but seeing as I have the Disney Dining card I can easily see myself booking a few sitdowns for Feb.
Cant wait to return in Feb!
We'll be going as a family for a wk at WDW followed by a wk on the Western cruise in Aug 06

If I saw a person alone at WDW, I would be completely jealous. What an absolute treat! I would say - Lucky them!

I'm usually with people when I go, but I have gone by myself before and let me tell you - both have their perks. Going by yourself can be SO relaxing. Just taking your time, really appreciating the things you want to appreciate...it's almost theraputic, actually.

Either way, to envelope yourself in that Disney atmosphere is what really matters.

DH and I took a parents only trip a while ago to celebrate an anniversary. I'm a huge Disney fan and DH loves it because I do. Our resort choice was based on the fact that it was on the monorail to the MK for me and had a great spa for DH. We've been married long enough that neither feels bad to enjoy some time alone with their favorite vacation past time, so I'd hop into the MK for a few hours, while DH lounged at the spa. I had so much fun. I could actually shop all I wanted and explore some attractions that are my favorites, without having to worry about someone elses level of fun. I do have a lanyard that I wear whenever we go to Disney and yes it does have a guest of honor badge pinned on there with my name. I can't tell you how many times I've been actually mistaken for a cast member. I think everyone should experience Disney 3 ways, with kids, with another adult and solo. It's amazing how different each experience is.

I say go for it.

I was all alone on my very first trip to WDW back in '86 when I was still in college and single. I was on a long trip across the country and spent a week in the world. It was one of the best times I ever had! I met lots of people and had lots of fun. I loved being able to spend the time to really explore every nook and cranny and take-in the details. That's something I find myself longing for nowdays. I love being there with my wife and children, but it's great to be able to do just what you want and take all the time you need. If you get a chance to spend time there alone, do it!
