What do you prefer, sit down restaurants or counter service?

Hello everyone, Just wondering what you all think. We are doing counter service this time. Last time we did sit down, which was great because we had some character meals. The kids were a little anxious to hurry up and eat and go ride the rides. The oldest is very excited that we are doing counter service, so we can eat whenever we want .:cool1:

We are big fans of sit down. Mind you we don't have any children old enough to be ready to ride! We like to use that time to relax and just take a little time out of the rush of the park. Now I very much so sold my co-worker on the cs plan since she has 2 boys that are more excited to eat and run.

I like one sit down meal a day. It is nice to relax and cool off. If I am in the parks by myself, I usually just do counter service.

Grandparents ... no kids with us ... but we still prefer CS. Occasional sit down, but we don't want to waste much time in the parks. Do sit-down meals in the moho.

I really like CS because you can eat whenever and you can eat the type of meal that fits your mood that day, not what fit your mood 180 days ahead of time. Most of the CS's are really good. We did all CS last time we went and plan to do the same on our September trim, except for a character meal or two just because they are a little extra treat for the kiddos.

DW and I are the sit down type, but will do the occasional CS. We like to take the time to sit down and relax. We don't have the fuss of trying to find a table, and like being waited on.

CS with 1-2 sitdown meals during the week we are there. I feel like we waste too much time when we do sit downs and the food is just never that impressive.

Definitely prefer the food at table service. Of course there can be bad ts meals and good cs meals, depending on the restaurant. But generally ts is better and a nice chance to take a break. But we don't run around the park riding everything any more, so don't mind the time it takes to eat at a ts.

I like doing both, I get the plan with both types and get one sit down for a rest period and the other for whenever. Makes me have some kind of idea where to go before I start. I like to have a plan. On the other hand, my wife would love to have just sit downs. She is not big on going away and having to eat fries alot.

Quick service, by far. Table service restaraunts have always been hit or miss with my family, and only two or three had good food, everything else was just... okay.
Quick service still lets you be part of the magic and fits into a busy schedule. And let's be honest, it's *hard* to mess up a hot dog.

We really love the TS plan. For a few reasons: the character meals for our children who are (11, 7, and 6) have been a big hit. The food may not be the best, but the characters are and it beats waiting in line at the parks to get a pic or a signature if the kids want it. Also the food is better than counter service with more variety outside of character meals...Epcot for example has alot of different food that are very tasty compared to the same counter service meals that don't differ much from place to place. We have done the counter service and it works well if we go in the summer and are planning on doing Disney Quest/water parks bc there is so much running around to get different places the cs plan is much better. I guess it just depends on how you have planned your vacation for your own family, but we like the ts options esp. for the character meals :)

I think we are going to stick with the counter service meals. The table service is good too. I really love all the characters meals. My boys are not really into meeting all the characters:sad2: I think I am into more than they are. This year I made them personal autograph books. My younger one said mom, "can you please take out the STAR WARS pages, I am not really into it:"sad2:" My older one said can you add more STAR WARS pages" :headache:
I am not changing anything, those book took me a long time to make:rolleyes:

I like both. I like to go against the crowds-Table Service at lunchtime and CS at dinnertime. Mostly that's because CS resturants are so busy at lunchtime, and TS resturaunts are nice and quiet. There've been several TS resturants that I've experienced at both lunchtime and dinnertime in previous years, and the difference in noise level and hustle/bustle is amazing. Conversely, at dinnertime, I've been in some CS resturants that are so uncrowded that I entered, wondering if they were about to close. Also, the sitdown midday is a nice break out of the sun and heat.

We typically do resort food court for breakfast, counterservice in a park for lunch, and sit-down for dinner. Every now and then we mix it up but our days are so full in the parks to meet everyone's wishes that sometimes we end up forgetting lunch or just grabbing a pretzel, ice cream, etc.

Counter service all the way. I have two sons 13 and 11 and they do not want to stop for a reservation or wait for food. The counter service food is great and with two snacks as well it is all the food you need.

I like one sit down a day...I enjoy trying different places and different foods..I am not much of a counter service but I try to find the best for you type foods when we eat at CS meals

When you factor in everything we prefer CS. TS just takes too long and costs too much for what you get. CS gives you freedom to dine almost when you want and keeps the trip spontaneous. We do make a couple ADRs for TS just to have a little variety.
