What do you plan to do on 9-11-2002?

I am not sure how I should face it.

I really would like to take that day off, and watch all the news coverage, and have my quiet time for griefing. On the other hand, I also would like it to be another regular day, and not be reminded of everything again. (Been trying to do that ever since). I feel kinda scared that it has already been a year.

I wished they'd have declared 9-11 a national holiday, at least for this year.

Maybe I will take the day off, go to the park with my doggie. Turn off my TV, emailed my best friends, have a glass of wine, and a good cry for those whom we've lost.

since last year pretty much stank
I hope to have a nice normal day
with a quite family celebration of my birthday
yes it's 9/11
last year we had nothing to celebrate
birthday cake was not even eaten
so hopefully this years birthday is way less eventful

I will probably fly my flag, maybe put some candles in the windows, and quietly remember the lost heroes of 9/11.

I don't know if I could watch the footage again if they choose to show it.

I can pretty much tell you how my day will go:

I will wake up in the morning, turn on the news as I am getting ready for school, which will be coverage of it non-stop of course. Then I will head to school. There will probably be some type of memorial or discussion about it. I will come home, and turn on the news again. If I haven't cried yet during the day, I am sure sitting at home and watching the coverage again will make me cry. Then I will have to try to compose myself to do my homework.

I know no matter how my day turns out, it will be a day of remembrance for those lost. I will try to continue on as normal, but it will be a hard day no matter what.

I can't believe it has almost been a year, either. The day is still so vivid in my mind.

My wife and I will be spending the day and the week at Disney. After the parks were closed last year on 9/11, we’ve had our discussions on going this year but plans are that we will be at one of the parks that day (unless some actual published threat were to include Disney). :D

We will be in Disney on 9-11. I actually think it will be very special to be there this year on that day. I wonder if Disney will do any type memorial.

I'll be at NYU.. I bet it will be very different than last year when I wasn't in NY. I personally think we should have the day off, especially at a school that's so close to where it all took place. But I'm sure I'll just go to class and stuff.. hmm, is it a Wednesday? I'll have Conversations of the West: Antiquity and the Renaissance, and Intro to Psych. We probably won't do anything special in class.. I bet NYU will have some sort of memorial service though.

I'm in class all day. I am wondering what my school is gonna do.
Maybe have the flag at halfmast and have a moment of silence at all school meeting. I really have no idea.

I will be at work until 3:30 and then leave for Disney World. I bought everyone going on the trip (me, my mom, my aunt and my cousin) patriotic Mickey pins to give them as a rememberance.

Michelle, why don't you come join me and my kids and wave flags on the Bayshore?

I'll be teaching 1st and 2nd graders. Teaching on the day of such a traumatic anniversary will be a double-edged sword. The difficult part will be trying not to let my feelings overwhelm me to the point of negatively impacting my instruction, but the part that strengthens me is looking into the faces of America's future. It gives life to my hope.

I'll probably be working that day, but I would like to be kept apprised of the services remembering the victims through the net. Probably will watch prime time coverage in the evening though.

Does anyone know what they're going to do in NYC? Any official word yet? I hope they'll stop everything for one minute just to remember the incident.

I will be at WDW. We are planning on watching the flag retreat at MK that day. It was very moving when we saw it 9/16 or 17. I hope they do something extra special, but if not, that's how we'll remember.

we will also be at WDW...i think that we'll be at MK that day. i would like to try and catch the flag retreat, as i've never seen it before. and i think it's the best thing that we can do for that day...my FH has already designed matching patriotic mickey t-shirts for us to wear...it won't be an easy day and i just pray that nothing else happens...
