What brand do you have?

What do you love about it and hate about it?

Tell me everything! :teeth:

Whirlpool
Love: water and ice dispenser on the outside and the ease of taking out the glass shelves to clean them.
Hate: virtually everything else. Not enough space on the refrigerator side. No matter how I set the controls, the veggie drawer stuff freezes.

Hate the little amount of space on the freezer side, mine doesnt hold much!!!!

I like the water/ice feature in the door also.

Like the other poster, I hate having my veggies and fruit freeze in the drawer.

Also, there is never enough room in them. You can't put a pizza in the freezer.

Mine is GE.

Whirlpool
Love: the ice & water in the door
Hate: can't fit things in it - you will NEVER get a pizza in the fridge section.
Not much space in the freezer either.
Can't find anything because it is almost 2x as deep as it is wide.
Everything on the top 2 shelves of my fridge freeze - frozen eggs don't mix well in brownies.
Someone now makes fridge with double fridge doors on the top & a freeze compartment on the bottom AND ice/water in the door. Of course, I believe it costs over $2000

We have the freezer on the bottom model, with ice and water inside. I don't really miss having the water on the outside, and it makes it look a lot sleeker and cleaner.

I love the huge amount of accessible space in the fridge, and the sliding baskets in the freezer.

I have a GE Profile. It's designed to not stick out very far, but the result is that it's not as deep as a normal fridge so there isn't a lot of space inside. The upside to this is that it forces me to clean it out more often and not accumulate so much.

Wow. :scratchin So, would you all prefer the traditional type of fridge if you could trade?

We have some stuff that freezes now in our traditional fridge and I hate it when that happens.

We get pizza frequently so I guess I've got some thinking to do. :scratchin

We have a Kenmore (I think)

Our fruits and veggies don't freeze in the compartments they actually last longer in there.

I hate the freezer side. Like everyone else has said you cannot put a frozen pizza in there and there just doesn't seem to be a lot of room. Things get 'lost'.

Also, be carefull where you are going to put it. You cannot put a side/side next to a wall. The door will not open enough for you to really get inside.

I thought I would love our side/side but if I had to do it again I would have bought another regular or bottom freezer.

DH wanted the side by side and I hate it. Like many of the above posters have said, nothing fits. We had to purchase a second freezer that we keep in the garage so that we could put normal sized items like pizzas in it.

I cannot even freeze a lasagna casserole in my freezer as my pan won't fit.

I just ordered new appliances from Sears for our new house. I went with Kenmore's bottom freezer french door style model. My mom really discouraged me from buying side by side because she said I'd never be able to fit a turkey in one. Not like I have turkeys in our frig all the time :rotfl: we're much more the pizza type. BTW, ours is a counter depth model.

I love my side/by side. I think its Kenmore. Biggest for interior room.
yes frozen pizzas fit in the freezer if you lay them flat.

I love the ice/water in the door, the 3rd int drawer, lots of door space.

I don't love the lighting in the freezer, kind of dark.
I dont love the bottom cheese drawer frosting things...??? I keep playing with the settings. prob have them wrong.

I would not buy the std version anymore. I would buy the fridge on top/freezer drawer on bottom. The one with 2 tops doors. LOVED that one. but price wasn't in my range.

I have the GE Monogram side by side built in. The freezer could be bigger, but it doesn't bother me that much. I don't like how the shelves are arranged in the refridgerator though. The shelf above the veggie compartments is only about 12 inches deep. And I agree with what SC Minnie said about being careful where you put it. We put ours next to the oven, so if the kids open the door too far, it will get a dent in it from the oven handle. It's stainless steel so the dent will show for sure. This hasn't happened yet but we've only lived here for a month now.

Mine's Whirlpool, and I agree with everything Bananiem said. Really can't think of much I like about it. I can fit a turkey in mine but it takes up almost an entire basket. I can put a large frozen pizza in it by resting it on top of the basket. My mil doesn't like hers either. To think, I could have saved a lot of $ by going in a different direction.

I HATE mine! It's a GE, standard model with ice and water in the door. It came with the house when I bought it.

The ice/water dispenser is one or the other, and it drips frequently (I think the ice gets partially out, and then melts, so I try not to use the ice dispenser).

There's not enough space in either side for anything. My fridge will hold a medium pizza, but not anything bigger. And I only have two small drawers, one of which is half the depth of the other for some weird reason.

And the freezer doesn't work right. When I first moved in (Oct), everything was frozen solid! I moved the temp a little warmer, and noticed everything being mushy. I bumped it colder, until it's max cold, and my ice cream is still runny. I called the warranty company, but the repairman said "It's set for 0. No problem." I haven't had the time to get them back out.

The freezer has room for 1) the ice compartment/dispenser, 2) one shelf that has 2 half gallons of ice cream and a coffee can, 3) a bin big enough for a couple large frozen veggie/french fry bags, and 4) three small door shelves big enough for a mini frozen dinner (things like budget gourmet).

Thank God I have a full size upright in my garage!

I totally agree. I hate the size of the freezer. Don't even think about putting a frozen pizza or an ice cream cake in there - not going to happen.

I don't love anything about it.

Next time, I'm getting a fridge with the freezer on the bottom. I like the "armoire" style.

We bought a Maytag Wide-by-Side for our last home, but left it when we moved to FL. It's like a zig-zag with narrow & wide shelves for fridge & freezer, taking care of the pizza/turkey problem. I ADORED it!

Maytag Wide by Side

LOVE LOVE LOVE my new LG Stainless fridge! It has the fridge on the top with 2 doors and the freezer on the bottom with a tilt out door and then a pull out after the tilt. Has the ice in the freezer but the water on the door! LOVE that I can put a whole costco veggie tray in the fridge in the bottom drawer with NO problem! Love it holds 4 gallons of milk or juice in the doors, the shelves slide in and out so you can get to things easier and it's just a great fridge!! Love the water has a filtration in it so it tastes so much better than a normal ice/water in the door model. I don't have 1 bad thing to say about it. We got it at home depot for less than 2000.00 total including delivery and taking the old piece of crap side by side we had from GE away. Have had it 3 months and still love it! You can see my fridge here

We bought a fridgidaire last year and love it. It has a spot next to the ice maker inside for a pizza to fit into. The thing I hate is dh talked me into buying black and it shows everything. You have to clean it with window cleaner about every day or it looks really bad.
