What do you keep your AC set at? (inspired by Binny's blinds ?)

It is so hot here right now it is set at 67 day and night. Don't ask me about our electric bills.

72 when we are home...78 when we are at work or away.

have to keep our cats happy!!:cat:

78 when my husband is home, then I turn it down to 76-77 when he leaves! :teeth:

68 during summer night and day.

Wow, I am glad to see someone keeps theirs in the 60's besides me LOL....I kept scrolling and all I saw was 70's! I actually keep it between 66-68 but sometimes at night I set my room for 64 when I am sleeping.

During the day, main floor is set at 74 unless it's really hot out and DH is home and working outside. Then he wants it cooler, 71 or 72 downstairs. Upstairs is set at 76 during the day and around 72 or 73 at night with ceiling fans going.

A tip from the UGI repairman who was here for routine maintance yesterday... he said to keep the fan in the "on" position instead of just "auto" when the unit comes on to cool. It will circulate the cool air more evenly throughout the house.

Also, when we first had central I'd called the electric company to ask a suggested temp. They said 78 - 80 degrees!!!:faint:

I try to keep my house 70 degrees year round. That is where I am most comfortable.

I have mine set at 68. I would keep it a little cooler if my kids & husband weren't shivering already. I like cold. I work a lot better & faster when I don't have to stop to wipe the sweat off my brow!

We keep ours right at 75 all the time. I would love for it to be in the 60s, but I could never afford the electric bill.

73 during the day and 69 at night. The second floor where the bedrooms are is about 5 degrees warmer in the summer.

Ours is set at 72. upstairs and downstairs. The kids are always cold at 72. But the second we go above 75 the dog starts to get sick.

So the little ones were on the couch today with the down comforter and the dog was comfy in the kitchen.

DH and I play musical thermostat. He likes it at 68 and I prefer it a bit warmer. I freeze when he is home but when he is not, I put it on 72 and sometimes higher but don't tell him that ! I don't want to see the electric bill this month!

We keep ours in the low 60s all the time. In the winter we rarely use the heat. I LOVE for my house to be freezing! I have flannel sheets and a big down comforter and like to cuddle up under the covers! :D

72 degrees. When we first had central AC installed around 20 years ago I kept it at 68 degrees. I froze and wore a sweater all summer long so now it's at 72 degrees day and night. If I put it up higher the two Poodles get hot and start panting. 72 keeps the Poodles cool and I don't freeze.

I try to keep ours at 78 and really don't mind 80 but DH will turn it down to 75-76 until I notice. ;)

Electric bills are bad enough already

72 or 73 here. We like it cool. I like to use my sheet and comforter!!

We have our central air set on 80 and I still have to have the comforter at night when I go to sleep. DH sleeps with no covers but then I'm always cold. I see some of these 68 thru lower 70's and I think "How do they do it?" My mother set's her central air at 74 and I freeze when I go to here house.
