What do you inexplicably hate?

Red light runners, dangerous drivers, stop sign runners, use of the F word, smoke from cigarettes, rude people
Drivers going too slow in the left lane, drivers who text, people who don't use their blinkers, people who generally don't look before turning or moving into the next lane, or not looking while they are pulling out of a parking spot.
Edited to add: YES, use of the F word: Felons. Keep them off the road! 🚔

As for the grandparent names, I can't stand Memaw. However, I also am aware that kids can have multiple sets of grandparents and great-grandparents and therefore need different names to distinguish them. My granddaughters for example have me & DH, my ex and his wife, plus 2 sets on the other side. Yes, we all have different names!

When a cashier, or waitress, or other service person calls me 'honey, 'sweetie' or 'darling'. I am not any of those to any of them!

Yes….Totally This!!!

Actually….if it’s someone that’s significantly older than me than it’s doesn’t bother me as much. But when it’s someone around my age and younger I can’t stand it. But, since they are wanting to be nice I just smile and move on.

Mookie and Frizzles? That'd be ok if Grandma and Grandpa were created by Jim Henson.

My nephew somehow came up with "Graga" to refer to my mother and "Papa" for my stepfather. Not sure where he got that, but every now and then I'll throw in a Smurfs reference and call her "Gragamelle"

When people ask a question online to a group of people and then finish it with "and GO", like it's a race to answer their question. I never respond to those questions.

I agree with this one. It annoys me more then it should, to the point where I want to find this person and smack them. LOL

Ok - yes, I really don't like this either!

My MIL insisted her grandkids call her that. Well, my kids came along and they couldn't pronounce it so they ended up calling her 'Me-nooo'.
My husband, and BIL (her sons) took to calling her 'Me-Nooold Lady' behind her back.
She also wanted them to call Santa Clause 'Ho-Ho' and milk 'Moo-Moo".

So this reminded me of my MIL and what she wanted to be called. Her name is Kay, and she wanted all of the grandkids to call her "Mama Kay". Both of my SILs kids called her that but there was no way that I was going to let anyone else be called Mama by my kids. I am their Mama and with all that we went through to have them, I was not sharing that special title with anyone. I find is odd that a grandma wants to be called Mama.

Any loud chewing, especially gum poppers. Finding the toilet lid up.

Just a weird hang up I have is bangs, especially grown women with bangs. I have yet to see anyone that looks good with bangs. I can't explain my hatred of bangs, lol.
I’m the opposite. I think so many ladies would look better with bangs instead of a big blank forehead,
Just watching an episode of House Hunters and the one lady has a huge forehead and I keep thinking how much better she’ll look with bangs every time she’s on screen.

My kids, nieces and nephews called my mom mama, my oldest started it. She was like a second mother to them all and was very proud of her name.

I think that grandma, or any form of that is a special title. My MIL did not help raise my kids, she was strictly their grandma and had that kind of a relationship with them. She would not even watch them or have them over if they were even a little bit sick because, as she said, "I raised my kids already". So if she felt that way, then she does not get to be called "Mama". That is great that your family has a different experience.

Popping and snapping gum
I have noticed how people get so upset by this. I will admit I am a gum popper, there is something so satisfying about a teeth rattling pop. It hurts me how people hate it so much.

For the record, 2 of the "Ice Cubes" gum... wow that is just popping heaven right there.

I am torn on this issue. I don't mind the sound of the popping gum and have done it myself. I don't think that is the issue. My problem with it is that you can do that with a closed mouth but most people pop their gum with an open mouth and that is just as gross as eating with your mouth open. Chew your gum or pop it, just do it with your mouth closed. Some people look like a cow chewing it's cud when they chew gum. Gross

Yes, each family does it differently. I’d feel like we’d somehow slipped into an episode of Little House on the Prairie if my son ever tried to call me Mama. It’s very uncommon here. So I guess that would make the title fair game for a grandparent, although nobody I’ve ever known uses it that way either.

I’m uncomfortable with the idea of our kids’ spouses calling us Mom and Dad, nor could I ever bring myself to call DH’s parents that. We all have perfectly good first names and that’s what I prefer.

People using the non-existent "word" alot. Allot is a word, and a lot is a vague quantifier, but alot doesn't exist. Don't you see that when you type it, a red line pops up? For the love of God, just quit.

Lack of capital letters.

Come on, Guys, these are lower-elementary school skills.

:faint: (From another CB thread) Read the Twitter post by one Ms.Tara Houska, Tribal Attorney for the Ojibwe nation, quoted in this article. This is a serious issue, and I’m supportive of the position but honestly, from a well-educated, professional woman trying to advocate for her people - it’s cringe inducing.
