Last time we were in Bangkok my wife ordered one of these from a street seller and says it was the best she's ever tasted, even though it sounds weird. It was made with coconut milk and the filling was cheese, ham, jam and chilli sauce !
I'll have to make them tomorrow instead - and I'll be using lemon juice and castor sugar as they all like that ......... but I'm rather partial to maple syrup and whipped cream
I'm having mine now instead of for tea as the partner hates them. I'm trying a range of ideas, chocolate, ginger, sugar only. Will let you know how it goes! I can't stand lemon juice though, am I strange???
Have you made yours properly ? Mine are good old Aunt Bessies, ready made, bung in the microwave, ready in a couple of minutes pancakes. (As are my roasties and yorkie puddings !!)
Good 'ol sugar and lemon for me but DH prefers orange and sugar.
Had to postpone the pancakes for another day as DS has spent all day suffering an ear infection at school without telling anyone and is now in bed. The anti-biotics are just kicking in but we couldn't have pancakes without him!
Well on pancake day we have Scotch Pancakes, and nothing is more delicious than them hot with loads of melting Lurpak butter........not that I've had any of course!!!
I'd forgotten all about pancakes and the local shop didn't have any 'cheat' mix, so I made my own. DD didn't want them any way other than just sugar and lemon, but DH and I went classy and had ours wrapped around asparagus (with ham for DH). Delicious. I should have left it at that, but then I went and had a sugar and lemon one for pudding Too much of a good thing!
