What do you hate about Disney?

I hate that the hotel rooms are so small and plain. I know they don't want you to spend a lot of time there, but compared to some offsite hotel rooms, Disney's are junky.

I hate the way the shorten the hours and cut parades during the "off" season. I'm paying every bit as much to get in as people traveling during peak times, but I'm not getting the same services. It doesn't seem fair to me.

I whole heartedly AGREE. :confused3 What gives.
They should keep them open just as long.

::yes:: to the Living Seas needing an update. It used to be one of our favorite attractions. It's looks terrible!! I'm always amazed that Disney has even allowed this to go on for so long. Especially with all the things that could be added to it-Nemo, Little Mermaid. This could be an awesome attraction again.

Journey into Imagination- :( What more can be said about this???

The shops carry all the same merchandise. Bring us some unique items that I can't get at my local disney store or online.

Don't hold your breath waiting for more monorails-ain't gonna happen, too expensive.

BTW-Someone please tell me that closing down Spaceship Earth is a rumor??
Bad enough to close Carosel of Progress, but not SE too.

It all boils down to one word- Eisner. Soon that word will be updated to Iger.

I hate the Big Hat at the Disney Studios... completely blocks the view of the Great Movie Ride, which was always so awesome. It's tacky.

1) Leaving - DEFINITELY! Passing thru the gates on the way out is the worst moment of my life - every time!
2) Crowds, I don't like, but I agree that some crowd is necessary. We were there after 9/11 and it was eerie to be able to walk into any ride with no waiting.
3) Absolutely agree about adults who will knock down anyone and everyone to get to a character. This is Disney, for crying out loud. It's about the kids!
4) And yet, I'd love an adults only resort. Now that my DD is 14, all the strollers and toddlers are too much for me at some times of the day. I wished last trip to be able to get away from them for just a little while...
5) The smell in the lobby of the Polynesian - stale water, but I could never stay there!
6) The lack of hours and attractions during off season - I agree, we're paying the same, but we don't get the same. Why can't I do Timekeeper at non-peak times?
7) How hard is it to move to the end of the aisle, especially when the CM is telling you to move all the way across?
8) And please, return Akershus to us! There are enough princesses. There is NOT enough authentic food in Epcot!

Those small TV's in the hotel rooms and the fact that the hotel parking lots are so far away (especially the GF)

I hate hearing "Walt would turn over in his grave".

Disney is a company. They are in business to make money. If the company was run just to "brin the magic" there would be no company. Then where would the magic be?

Disney has rising costs every year just like everyone else. They have a responsibilty to their employees, stock holders & fans. They have to pay the bills like everyone else.

I dont know many companies that could survive if they did not make big profits. And yes BIG profits. Not just surviving. Without BIG profits, there is no R&D, not exspansion, no new rides/parks/movies/etc. Without BIG profits, stocks fall, people sell off. Companies close.

Would you like to see the company they way it was befor Eisner took over? Oh that's right, there would not be a Disney if Eisner did not become CEO. The company would have been sold off peice by peice. Then were would your magic be?

I am not saying Eisner is a good person. Frankly I dont know anything about him personally. Yes he has made mistakes. But he also saved the company & for that, I am thankful.

-Things are getting run down (paint, bathrooms, wood rot, attractions not running smoothly, etc..)
-Pay the CM's even a little bit more ($8/hr.) and you will get some better people
-"Seasonal" attractions like Wonders of Life, Timekeeper, COP (bad show)
-Princess lunch at Norway stinks-ITA :confused3
-Kids being allowed at Pleasure Island is very silly-ITA
-Stitch is lame and they promote it like it is a Godsend
-Chester and Hesters Dinorama, All-Stars, Pop Century, Leave a Legacy, the Big *** hat at MGM and the wand on Spaceship Earth-TACKY
-Journey Into Your Imagination being ripped down for the junk ride we have now (at least it is better than the last incarnation)
-The replacing of the Magic Shop and the Penny Arcade on Main Street with PLUSH-O-RAMA
-Mr. Toad, 20,000 Leagues, Horizons, Skyway, World of Motion-miss them all
-The "Living" Seas-where is the sun to help the fish LIVE?

tourists...lol...I AM ONE! rofl....Naw, i hate... The fact the COP is only seasonal...that's my fav ride EVER! 20 minutes of AC = HEAVEN!

Read "Disney War" very interesting and eye opening.

I did not mean COP was a bad show. :) I LOVE COP. "Bad show" is a term used by Disney for years to mean looks bad, not something we would do, etc.. A lot of his words for the parks were show/movie terms (cast members, guests, on stage, bad show, etc..) Attractions being closed is "bad show" it looks bad to paying guests!

That is just way more then I want to invest in Disney World... :rotfl2:

Seriously I am a HUGE Disney fan. I have 30+ trips under my belt. I love it there, DH & I got married there, I love the movies, we have the toys, the clothes, the STUFF.

Just not interested in the "wars" of Disney. I just want to relax & enjoy my vacation.

The only negative aspect of Disney for me is when other guests make the experience less enjoyable for everyone around them by being obnoxious and downright rude. But other than that, I don't see many bad things about Disneyworld ::MinnieMo

Eisner doesn't deserve the credit for saving Disney. All his supposed good moves were made when Frank Wells was with him. Once he died, Eisner was unleashed. This thread is the result.

"Bringing the Magic" is not inimical to profits- it is what built Disney and is what people want from Disney. The company is now coasting on its reputation from the days when Magic was the priority. Even though the stock has been rising for a little while now, it is nowhere near where it was a few years ago. That's because people no longer can count on the Disney name as a guarantee of high quality. The Mouse's reputation for doing everything right is quickly being replaced by a reputation for grabbing the quick buck. How long can things go on like that before people are no longer willing to pay a premium for the Disney name?

Believe me, I want the company to make a profit. I'm a stockholder. But Eisner's way isn't the right way for this company.

One thing that drives me nuts happens when we are there in June and the parks are packed full.

The parks are really full, yet over half of the food service areas are closed. How many times have you said to yourself "I'm hungry, and I'd even pay for one of those $8 hamburgers, but I don't want to stand in line for an hour to get it?" Disney could make a lot of people happy AND make a lot more money if they opened more food service during peak times.

Sometimes they get cheap on other stuff, too. One time the place was packed, yet they only ran one train and it would sit at each station for 20 minutes, so if you just missed the train, you would have to wait over an hour for it to return. :earboy2:

The destruction of Main St. - They turned what was once a wonderful experience] into nothing more than a big chain of plushes for sale!!!!!!!

TOUCHE!!!!

My sentiments exactly....remember the photo machines whereby you put a penny in and seen old black and white footage. remember when you bought penny candy(even though it was a nickel)

THEY KILLED MAIN STREET.....

All merchandising ....and I think it is failing...each store has exactly the same thing in it

OKAY now on to my other pet peeve(s)

......rude people cutting in line and WDW employees allowing it because they don't want to hurt anyone else's feelings

........waiting an hour on main street for parade to start only to have family with small children push their kids in front of my kids so they can see the parade.
I was even told once, your kids are bigger, move aside and let me put my stroller in front of them...my kids have been majorily respectful of this and allowed many kids to stand in front of them ....and what happened is that they ended up being 4 deep back..
