This is always a fun topic and seems timely this week...

We use our grill year round. Prior to getting our portable air conditioner in our kitchen/family room, I was known to cook almost anything on our grill in the summertime so I didn't heat up the house. Even casseroles in foil pans, etc. Now I use it for the normal stuff and haven't really used it that often this summer.

Tonight was shrimp done in a grill basket with some Thai sweet chili sauce and another grill basket with small corn cobs, zucchini, and peppers. I made some cilantro lime rice to go with it.

What have you grilled lately?

Mostly salmon, chicken, shrimp and hotdogs or hamburgers for those who prefer them. All the sides are grilled as well but there would be too many to list to get them all included here.

We also use ours year round. In addition to the standbys, we grill vegetables a lot - lately summer squash and zucchini cut lengthwise, brushed with a little olive oil, and sprinkled with a little salt, pepper and garlic powder. So good.

Mostly meat. Lots of grilled chicken (different marinades for variety), but every now and then I will make hot dogs. If there's a good deal at the grocery store, steak kabobs. :cloud9:

year round grilling here too
mostly burgers, sausages, hot dogs, steak, corn

Year round trillers here: we grill turkeys, shrimp, steak, chicken, pork chops, pork roasts, burgers, hotdogs, bratwurst, veggies, corn on the cob, potatoes.

So-the two odder things we grill: the beginning of nachos (ie the chips, cheese, and whatever meat we are using; and when we hosted DDs high school cross country team for a pasta dinner, we used the grill for garlic bread, as there simply wasn’t room in our stove.

We grill year 'round. All kinds of steak, different burger creations, chicken parts or whole chickens rotisseried or spatchcock, brats, pork chops, tri tip...when sweet corn is in season I shuck it and just roll it over the coals until seared.10374505_10205866227966043_6364727234800593999_n.jpg

I love doing garlic bread on the grill! I like the grill marks. When we are doing everything on the grill we do grilled pineapple too. We were at a friend's the other day and she grilled peaches/blueberries in a foil packet (with some butter and brown sugar) and served them with ice cream. Yum!

We grill a lot. Last night was marinated shrimp skewers, but we grill almost anything (korean bbq, burgers, steaks, salmon, veggies, whatever. Would like to try a pizza on the grill someday).

lots on the big green egg. beyond what's already been mentioned-recently lamb kabobs and crimini mushrooms.

Steaks, hamburger, chicken and hot dogs. Honey also has a huge smoker that he fires up once or twice a year. Because it's so labor intensive and takes a long time, he usually does a couple of butts, 4 packs of sausage and two or three racks of ribs at the same time. We make pulled pork from the butts and usually after eating pork for a couple of days and sharing with our neighbors, we freeze the rest. He makes his own BBQ sauce as well.

Nothing too out of the ordinary. Mostly meat & the occasional foil pack of potatoes.

Grill most of the time, smoke on occasion.

I mean anything really. Burgers and hot dogs of course, chicken legs (on a cool rack that hangs them facing downward to cook evenly), steaks, sausages, bologna. My friend did a great pork tenderloin last weekend. It turned out great! We'll also do corn, zucchini, okra, and other veggies as the mood strikes.

We grill just about anything from the traditional burgers and brats to vegetables, fruit, and have even made grilled pizza. I can't think of much we don't grill on occasion other than pasta dishes.

We have a natural gas line run to our grill so we can use it year round. Most of the time it's salmon, tilapia or swordfish with grilled asparagus or zucchini. We've done pizzas and great portabellas that I serve like a burger. Sometimes I throw a fruit crisp in a cast iron skillet and we have that as a dessert.

I used to grill steak, burgers, chicken, pork and fish regularly. My wife has taken over the cooking and pretty much steak is the only thing she grilles. She likes to use a lot of spices with and cook low and slow with chicken, pork and fish, so the stove top or oven work better.

So living in Scotland bbq is a novelty for us! But we bought a wee disposal bbq at the weekend and did some pork and chorizo burgers, halloumi cheese, asparagus and baby corn. Very tasty!
