poll coming.

We usually give out pre-packaged popcorn balls.

Our visitors have dwindled to about 30, so I give out full-sized bars. When we had over 100, I did smaller ones! Now that newer neighborhoods with sidewalks have sprung up around here, we are no longer the first one people from outlying areas drop their kids off at.

Our visitors have dwindled, too. Not many years ago we had over 100 but last year we had about 50. I think it is because 20% of the homes are abandoned and bank owned.:sad1: :sad1:

We give out mini candy bars, usually 2 for each child.

We live in a very small community, not near any others, so we get less than 15 kids on Halloween. The first year we were here, I bought 6 bags of the fun-sized bars and ended up with lots of left overs. Now I buy a box of the full-sized bars at Sam's and give those out.

We buy fun sized candies but give out a big handful to each child. There's Reeses, Twix, Snickers, Kit Kat, Whoppers. All the good stuff :)

ALWAYS the good stuff! chocolate bars.. mini. but I give a few to each, but with the minis I'll have enough left if we have more kids. but we never do anymore. (more left for me!:yay: )
people who give stupid plastic spider rings or pencils obviously were never kids themselves!:lmao: change? only if it's quarters. who wants a bunch of pennies to weigh down the bag?
when my kids were little , I always felt sorry for the poor little old ladies who spent SO much time baking cookies, cause I always made my kids throw them out. (I knew in my heart they were ok, but, why take chances?)

Hi.not me but my parents. They live out in the country and might get 6-12 neighbour kids they know, pluss us and I fill my pockets full.
home made fudge
can of pop
home made caramal popcorn
chocolate bars.
Now my inlaws live around the corner from my parents and don't get many kids, they give out regular sized chocolate bars.
I still remember the country life trick or treating, wayyy back40 years or so we got many apples, boxes of raisons, small bags of chips, and alot of home made goodies.

I chose other because I usually have a bowl of candy and a basket of "novelties." They can choose from each.

I give whatever strikes my fancy. Often it is candy. This year it's playdough and McDonald's coupons. I figure the smaller kids will love it. I really don't like getting the older more judgemental kids. :confused3

We get alot of trick or treaters by us. My DH went shopping yest and came home with about 10 bags of candy. I just looked real quick. I saw peanut butter cups, snickers, kit kat etc. I told him. GO HIDE IT ALL! He disappeared down the basement. I can't be trusted with that stuff in the house!

Candy and lots of it. We have over a 100 every year. Hey PD, I love popcorn balls but haven't found any premade that I like. We make a big batch every year for friends only. They all come back here to dump their loot and eat some. what kind do you get?

We give out chocolate bars- the small ones though- we get so many trick or treaters that no way can I buy a few hundred of the big sized bars!
When we trick or treat there are houses that everyone likes to go to- the one on the corner that gives out ice cream bars and the one a few blocks over that gives out juice boxes- We usually head out at 4 and don't stop until 8ish so its nice to get a drink in that time! I really avoid buying things like pretzles and play doh- the kids are never happy to get that- the play doh is really lame- its in this tiny little container and what exactly are they supposed to do with a quarter size blob of play doh?

What do you mean 'judgemental?' How do you give out 'playdough?' Is it real playdough?

Is it real playdough?

Its real playdough- every year a few houses give this out. Its in a really really tiny little container with a drop of play dough inside. The kids I take don't like getting it and it goes in the trash along with candy that people give out that is unwrapped- if that makes it judgemental so be it-

ha-ha! ROCKS! I remember the rocks.

What was it - she couldn't get out to the store and gave kids rocks from the garden, rather than nothing?

I'm lucky if I get 2 or 3 children on Halloween. I think last year I got none. I live on a very dark street with no sidewalks. There are housing developments down and across the street with hundreds of house all with sidewalks.

Every now and then I may get a group of older children.

I make up a bag of Juice box, chips, hostess's product, box of raisins and a halloween pencil.

I'm an older judgemental mom who hates playdough. The little tubs do nothing but make a mess so they always went into the trash and the Mc Donalds coupons usually just got tossed after they expired because we usually just forgot we had them.

I give out miniature candy bars normally. I'll probably go for full-sized bars this year, since children are not allowed to live in my development so I doubt we'll have any trick-or-treaters.

I always buy the good candy anyways, I like to be able to enjoy the leftovers ;)

I don't know what they are. I think my wife buys them at ACME Supermarket. They look like wrapped mini pumpkins, and it looks like maybe 20 per per pack.

Rocks! OH MY!!! :lmao: Talk about a blast from the past.

We give a mixture of candy and goodies (spiders, braclets, halloween pencils etc)
