what do you do?

I agree with others that there is usually too much to do to just sit at the campsite and wonder what to do. If we are not too tired from the parks and/or day activities, we go down to the marina and take a ride on the ferry boat. We also like to take the boat the Contemporary and then monorail to the GF and get ice cream from the food court.

We'll visit the other resorts - gift shops, lounges, etc. Also, the Boardwalk where they have Jelly Rolls, etc.

Too much to do that we can't do at home.

I am jumping in on this post - we are going for 9 nights and was wondering if this fire pit will work?? Our kids go to bed really early and might not make the BIG campfire everynight.

Thanks

it will not let me post a picture!!!! It is a copper fire pit (circle) with a removable mesh top -

Wait, if it's totally enclosed, then yes, it is allowed. I think I know which one you're talking about, they sell them at Home Depot/Target/etc.... As long as it's enclosed on all 4 sides, it's fine!!

Doesn't matter if it's mesh or whatever, just as long as there is some kind of screen. I think your fire pit would definitely be allowed, if it's the one I'm thinking about.

We have a fire pit that is what I think you are thinking about but ours has a folding stand and is made for portability. The stand stores in the bowl and the whole thing stores in a carrying case that looks like a spare tire in a cover. Anyway, it has a mesh "dome" cover to keep sparks from flying away. Is that kind OK to use at the Fort?

I only wish they had a cemetary there do I could stay forever when I die...that's MY idea of heaven!

I call dibs on a space behind site 1503. Hey, that's what they can do with the land formerly known as River Country. Sell plots so that Fort Wilderness chosen have a place to rest in peace on FW property and within view of the MK fireworks. Might have to have above ground coffins like in New Orleans.

We have something like one of these that we roast marshmallows over! Ours is a Coleman. Of course, we have to bring in our own wood, since they don't sell it at the Fort.

Rhonda, I've never seen one like this. Where did you find it? Thanks!

I got mine online, through Yahoo shopping! You can usually find an online store that will offer free shipping. :)

I just searched Yahoo shopping, and this is one that's on there: Coleman fire pit
