Indoor snowball fight...roll socks and you're ready to go! Paper mache projects are also fun...my DD's did this and it took hours and the neighbor boy (10) did one with them and enjoyed it. I just used wallpaper border paste instead of making my own. I also vote for cooking - they love it!
I don't accept "I'm bored" from my 10 year old son.teeth:
I have a roll of white tape that I use to price stuff for garage sales. When I hear "I'm bored".....I get out the tape and start marking all those toys (etc) that he "couldn't live without". I do it totally deadpan (although I have to hold in the giggling). He doesn't seem to bored much anymore. Option B. Get on the ponchos and go outside and play.
Send them outside if there's no lightening.
Last weekend, DS and his friends each went through
3 changes of clothes. The dryer was busy that night. They
had a terrific time! They are 9.
What games do they play? What keeps them occupied? My son has no problem keeping himself occupied when alone or with his sister. He just has this one friend that comes over often who always says everything is boring.
Start finding chores for them to do around the house...you'd be amazed at how quickly they'll find something to occupy themselves with when you start making them work!
My kids never tell me they're "bored", and their friends are warned too. I put them to work, dusting, cleaning, straightening up, whatever. lol It works.
Yup, I get out the umbellas and go for a walk with them barefoot, splash in the puddles. Make a new dessert together, there are so many kid recipes. Peanut butter playdough is always fun.
How about a trip to the library so they can read when it's raining.
