For us it depends. Our threshold is 90 for Port Orleans, French Quarter, if it is just us. If we can't get that we stay at the values.
However, most of our trips are with friends and family members whose threshold is a lot lower than ours, so we usually stay at the value resorts anyway and hope we get a discout for those.
I have had to pay rack rate for the values on only two occasions in over 15 trips.
One of those trips was a last minute, one night trip (we made the reservation that morning).
The other was Easter week.
