What do YOU do to prevent losing your ticket?

I just received my ticket for WDW. I am so excited! I have never been. But my first thought is...This is TINY!

What do you do while in the park to protect it? I am not usually one to lose things, but I am paranoid to lose such an expensive slip of paper! And what if it gets wet? I am thinking of just leaving it in my wallet...is that what all of you do?? THanks for any advice, I leave in 20 days and I am stressing out about these kinds of things :P

I have a lanyard that goes around my neck with a clear pouch about the size of a credit card sleeve. I put my ticket, room key, ID and DVC member card in there, along with any fastpasses we get during the day. The sleeve part is removable from the lanyard (which is really just a thick cord with a medallion on it) and I detach it and put it in a pocket (or just put the whole thing down the inside of my shirt) when we go on any water rides. I bought it on ebay and it's actually a cast member lanyard with Stitch on it.

For emergency purposes, it's a good idea to photocopy the back of your pass and keep a copy with you on your trip (separate from your actual pass). If your pass gets lost, they can use the copy of the back to issue you a new one.

If you bought your ticket from Disney, no worries. They keep all the info in their computer system, so all you need to do is go to a guest relations window with a photo ID and they can reissue the remaining entitlements on any ticket.

If you bought your tickets from anyone other than Disney, take a photocopy of the back of the tickets (the side with the magnetic stripe) and keep that copy in a place separate from your tickets. If your tickets are lost or damaged, you will need to take the copy of the tickets to guest relations in order for them to reissue the tickets. There is a number across the bottom of each ticket that is specific to that ticket, and that is what Disney will use to look them up.

They are pretty hardy. My sister ran her PI annual pass through the wash several times (forgot it in the pocket) and so long as it didn't go in the dryer, it was fine.

I think what you may have is your voucher for your package. The actual ticket I get when we check in the hotel, providing you as staying on-site, and is just like a credit card in size and material, It would not hurt it to get a little wet, but I don't think having it with you on Kali River Rapids or water parks is a good idea!

Oh, I did not know you could photocopy. Ok, I will be doing that forsure! Thanks...and the lanyard is safe? Like it's pretty impossible for the clip to break off and you drop it for example?

Hm, I don't know if it's just the voucher...

It is about the size of a credit card, and has Cinderella on it. We are not staying on site though so I don't think it can be part of a package?

I put it on my lanyard, but I have an AP so I just take my ID to a Guest Reations booth and get a new one, but my dad's we write down his number and put it in my notebook of planning, and on the cell phone so if we lose it we also just walk up to a booth and get a new one.

It's been on probably 15 park visits with me, including to Tokyo, Hong Kong and all over WDW. I've never had the sleeve come off the lanyard - it's a metal spring clip so there's no way for it to come open. The clip looks like the one in this picture:

The sleeve itself is open on the top, but I've never lost anything out of it. I have seen sleeves that they sell at the parks that have a ziplock type closure across the top.

That is for packages only which include the room key. Regular tickets are not on those cards.

One thing to keep in mind......I have 10 non-expiring hoppers. Well, my dh does and my dd will this summer. To the best of my knowledge, there are no names on them. You could buy one and give it to anyone. Therefore, there is no way that it can be tracked by Disney. Yes, they can get you a new one if you have the numbers from the back of the pass. So....make a photocopy of the back of your pass, and put it someplace safe. I have an AP...that can be replaced quite easily..I just show my license and can get a new one. But, that card has my name on it...it is tied to only me.

How do I keep my passes safe? I have a bag with a zip compartment that I keep passes in. But, I had to cut out the magnet on the bag since it kept demagnetizing the stupid pass!!!

The last few times we've bought regular tickets, they have printed the name of the guest on them, just like on my AP. So they would have that info in the computer. I don't know if they do it all the time, and it could be because we bought Florida Res tickets. I know they haven't always done this. If the tickets are being used by someone other than the purchaser, they would need to copy them, because the transaction wouldn't be under their name and Disney would need the actual ticket number to replace them.

If you don't have a copier, just write down all the numbers and letters on the very bottom of your ticket. The number usually starts with something like TR, and includes a code for the purchase location, the date the ticket was printed, and a one to four digit ticket number at the end. Write down what type of ticket and whether adult or child.

Keep in mind that this is only for advance purchases

I have a question. I am staying onsite, but I purchased tickets from the offical Walt Disney World website. I have a will call slip. The tickets that I get, will they be paper or attached to the room key?

Thanks in advance.

I keep mine in my wallet - I think wearing a lanyard would bug me too much (I don't like to wear necklaces, either!).

I don't have charging privileges on my ticket, since I stay at SOG, and really only need to access my ticket when I want a FP or enter a park. So it's not like I'm taking it in and out of my wallet all day long.

DisneyFan06- What kind of tickets did you purchase? That, and where you redeem them (resort lobby concierge or park guest relations) will determine whether they are on room key stock or ticket stock (paper).

To the OP...depending on what kind of ticket you purchased, it may be possible to encode it onto your KTTW card. If your KTTW card is lost, it is much easier for cast members to replace and just takes a second.

Tape it to my hiney. j/k
I keep it in my fanny pack, which never leaves my person.

Thanks for your response. I purchased 2 - 3day play passes for Florida residents. I purchased them online and received a will call certificate to redeem the tickets. I really want to try and get hard passes with card privledges. If I want this should I request it? Where should I redeem them at? Thanks! I just dont want a room key, credit card, and tickets to all hold onto when I could simply put them all on one. If that makes any sense.

Last December my families 7 day MYW passes that were on the paper tickets (can't remember the real name of them) and got them transferred onto a blank KTTW card which were seperate from our KKTW cards that we used for entering our room and for room charges. When I asked the Cast Member who did this if it was something any guests can do, he said "anyone who wants their tickets on a blank card can have it done." Once it was done he needed our old tickets for the record of this transaction going down and that was it.

As for the question of this thread I keep my KTTW card and my MYW ticket in my plastic lanyard pouch that clips onto my blue WDW lanyard which I have put my favorite pins locked onto.
