What do you do on Black Friday?

I wonder if Black Friday in-person shopping is still a big thing like it used to be back in the day, especially with online shopping. So what say you all? Will you be shopping or resting on Friday?

The last time I physically went to a store for Black Friday was in 2006 when the Wii launched. That was so hectic and stressful that it turned me off for good. Now I use it as a rest day.

Never was part of the whole mass of people rushing out to shop on Black Friday. Now, you can get sales at various times of the year and probably will do most of my Christmas shopping online. Way more efficient use of my time and I can scan 5-10 websites actually finding what I am looking for instead of driving all over town and still not find certain items.

Shopping with masses of people never seemed like my idea of a good time either............LOL.

I went out *one time* on Black Friday. We needed a new Christmas tree and WalMart had them for that day really cheap. It was like shopping in the company of a pack of wild hyenas, and I got shoved into the artificial tree display by some lady trying to get to the sale trees ahead of me. I did get the tree eventually, and vowed never to go out on Black Friday ever again. Now I just stay home and relax.

I'll actually to my annual Black Friday shopping Thanksgiving night. I'm a digital scrapbooker and the shops always have good sales for Black Friday and that's when all the new Christmas stuff comes out. I'm a sucker from some good Christmas kits. For the past I don't know how many years, I spend Thanksgiving night checking out the sales and new releases, downloading my purchases, unzipping them, and organizing them...usually while watching the Peanuts Thanksgiving special or the Thanksgiving episode of Quantum Leap.

This year, my sister and I are planning to do the decorations on Black Friday since we leave for Colonial Williamsburg for 10 nights on December 1...want to get all the decorations up before then and have time to enjoy them. Once that's done, I'll probably either use my new scrapbook goodies or start doing some Christmas shopping online.

I love Williamsburg. Haven't been in forever but I need to put it on my list so we get down there. Enjoy and have fun!

I have never done the Black Friday shopping madness. I'm not even sure what I'll be doing for Thanksgiving so I imagine wherever we are, either at home or at Hubby's family, I'll be sitting around.

My mom, my sisters and myself always used to go Black Friday shopping but when the stores started opening on thanksgiving it all changed. It’s just not the same anymore and we really have stopped exchanging gifts among the adults, only the kids so there’s really not the need to go crazy shopping on Black Friday anymore.

Our work schedule is tied to the NYSE, which is open for a half day on Black Friday. I work it if we’re not traveling, which we’re not this year. I’ll probably start decorating after logging out. I try to avoid the in-person shopping madness after being caught in a scary situation about 13 years ago. I think our last Black Friday semi-in-person shopping was 2017. Our main tv died on Thanksgiving night. We got in on a BF deal that was buy online…pick up in person at Target. Probably the easiest BF shopping ever.

THis year---working! blah. hope to find some good deals online though, and glad it'll at least just be teleworking, not in person.
I started getting out in the Black Friday craziness, in 1990. I kept doing it until about 5-6 or so years ago, when I realized all of the stores were either doing things early, like Wednesdays, or that online was better. I used to look very forward to Cyber Monday deals. Now, it's a whole different world. Most stores have started Black Friday online already. I'm shopping today at shopdisney for some deals.
We've also spent many Black Fridays on vacation at Disney or Universal
