What do you do on Black Friday?

Setting up the Xmas tree and relaxing. My husband has to work and usually there's something newsworthy that means he's called in to cover. My daughter will decorate the tree with me.

If you turn on your tv, you'll find that "Black Friday" is well underway at many retail outlets. I don't know if that has reduced traffic on the actual Friday, but BF seems to be coming earlier every year.

I'll be staying home that day, sometimes DW will head out for some gift card deal(You can never have too many Disney gift cards!)

I have only gone Black Friday shopping twice in my life, the last time around 15 years ago.

Once was fun. Went out at the break of dawn with my dad to get a TV, back when TV's were so much more expensive.

The other time was scary. Went to WalMart to get a trampoline. It was an event for sure being there at midnight the moment it started. Not something I want to repeat.

Now I sleep late and at some point during the day buy our Christmas tree.

Staying home. Last time I did Black Friday was in 2019 at Target. I was in line to check out and somehow ended up in front of a lady that was in line before me. She was being so nasty and I didn't say a thing out of fear with no matter what I'd say she'd do something crazy. I wanted to yank her hair out. Would I really do it? No.

Nothing to do with shopping, that's for sure. The whole consumerism mentality of the holidays, which starts earlier and earlier every year, is rather disgusting.
I know, right!
It seemed like I barely blew out the candles in the jack-o-lanterns and I was getting inundated with Black Friday ads

I just like to watch the crowd highlights on the news. :)
Although it’s not as fun in recent years as crowds have calmed down as more people shop online.

I went out on Black Friday once.... to help a friend find Tickle-Me-Elmo. Oh my goodness... it was a memorable experience! I've never went out again since. I much prefer shopping on-line on that day. :)

Finish cleaning up from Thanksgiving, possibly start decorating for Christmas...contemplate how we ended up with two opened cans of whipped cream even though I made homemade whipped cream.
Cook down the turkey carcass and put some soup in the freezer.
Prepare for the first day of shotgun.
Contemplate how much champagne we drank Thanksgiving day!

I always have to work that day. Altho my daughter & I did venture out to Kohl's, super early 2 years in a row several years ago before heading to work. Kohl's because it is about 2 miles from home & on way to work, lol

Normally I do nothing. No shopping, just enjoying the day off work. This year, I'll be going to a football game that night.

As a kid, we would sometimes travel on Thanksgiving day and do our big dinner on Friday. Never did any shopping.

For about 10 years before the pandemic we’d plan out stores and who’s going where for what. It was fun to look through the newspaper sale ads after Thanksgiving (we eat at lunch time). About 5 years before the pandemic mom and I decided to drive to a bigger city. We’d get a hotel room for Thursday Friday and Saturday and spend the entire time shopping, even wrapping stuff IN the room to bring home ready to go under the tree. Then they stopped with all that and spaced it out throughout November December so we don’t do that anymore. It was so much fun though. I miss it.
