What do you do on arrival day??

If we were getting in earlier this trip, I think we would probably head to Epcot. An extra evening to tour around the WS would be great... as I only have one full day planned there. Unfortunately we don't land until 7:45pm :(

We used to go to DTD, but not lately because of the construction/parking/crowd. We'll relax, eat dinner at one of the resort restaurants (Boma, Sanaa, Kona Cafe, basically anything but OHana). All resorts, from the values to the deluxe, offer beautiful grounds to stroll around and enjoy. It's our transition period from work to vacation...

And of course check with Stacey on the TV to see what's new!!

We fly in from L.A., so even with an early flight, we still get to WDW in the early evening because of the time change. But because we don't go to WDW very often, when we do go, we stay a long time. The last 2 trips were 9 days each.

A nine day ticket isn't horrendously more expensive than an eight day ticket, so we head to a theme park. We try to prioritize a night time show since we've got the time change on our side. When we stayed at the BCV we went to Epcot to watch IllumiNations. When we stayed at the Poly we went to the MK to watch MSEP and Wishes. (And we got FP+ for both.)

I typically try and book the first flight out, especially during winter as those flights usually make it out if the airport ends up closing or flights become delayed due to weather.

So usually arrive to MCO around 1:00pm. Get to resort and check in then head over to Epcot to WS. Enjoy walking around and catching Illuminations. This year will be staying onsite at the Boardwalk Villas so will work perfect and even better is EMH arrival day for Epcot and WS! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Cannot wait!!!! Good luck with your planning.

Usually our arrival and departure days are non-park. We visit DTD, swim at the resort, and/or visit the Boardwalk. There just hasn't been enough time on those days to make it worthwhile to visit a park. Our trips are usually a full week (9 days) so a few non-park days are okay.

Our next visit (in just 2 weeks from now) is only a 4 day weekend. We arrive at about 1 pm, and will spend the afternoon and evening at Epcot. with an ADR at Germany. The second day is MK, the third is split between AK and DHS, with the final day just resort pool and travel. Trying to make the most of limited time. It's a very short trip, but we will be back again 3 weeks later for 10 days.

We usually head to the Disney Village. I like to get a lot of the necessary shopping out of the way (requests from friends, gifts for family, etc), plus I like to go ahead and get my ornaments personalized. A lot of times (especially if it's a busy week) the personalization will back up and if you don't get the order in 3 days before you leave, it's not happening. We'll grab dinner at one of the restaurants then hit the ground running the next day.
