What are some good easy meal suggestions for dinner? Cooking is really the last thing I want to think about while on vacation, so I need some ideas on what everyone prepares while on vacation?

Thanks

So you're telling me that thing in the kitchen is a stove???

LOL, it is called the stove decoration. It is actually a workiing model. :)

I cook steak, pasta, pizza, breakfasts, chops, etc. Of couse, it is the easy food that gets done. Also, beans and hotdogs are easy.

We have gotten frozen family size meals as well as family meals from Goodings deli area like pastas, casseroles, etc that you could just heat and eat. I also love the Stove Top Stuffing Chicken bake dishes. They just require a dish, chicken, milk, butter and an oven and are very good. There is another brand that includes the chicken in the mix, Homestyle something? You could also do the meal in a bag things that Lean Cuisine and some other companies make. Those are quick and easy but still good and economical.

Let's see... we cook pasta, tacos, pizza, lasagna, mac-n-cheese and casseroles. At least that is what is coming to mind right this moment. Probably because that is my cooking meal plans for our trip coming up tomorrow :)

Usually just do breakfast in the room ( toast, cereal etc) , always put a pizza in the freezer for the occassions that no one feels like going out. If I'm not going to the parks and use the hotel pools, I might have cold cuts and salad for a lunchbreak from swimming.

We use the kitchen for breakfast every morning, and for us that's a protein shake typically. We stock the fridge with lettuce, tomatoes and crab delites for lunch most days. Since we've started eating healthily, it has become a bit of a chore finding and arranging for decent options for restaurant eating at WDW, so we even do dinner at the room quite often, though more often than not it has been stuff like Lean Cuisine.

Do I hear the patter of pig's feet coming up the drive at OKW?:)

We usually do breakfast and an occasional lunch in the room . Those can be taken care of with some pretty basic items like milk, cereal, bread, and lunch meat. We have only had dinner in the room a couple of times. Usually it is packaged salad with Louis Rich chicken strips and a loaf of french bread. We have cooked steaks on the grills at OKW before.

We always do breakfast in the villa and an occational full meal when we have guests with us who might be on a budget. We like all the WDW resaurants, so if it is just us, we eat out a lot. When we cook, we do easy things that I can throw in the oven, set the timer and have done when we return. We have done baked potatoe bar with the potatos done and all the fixings for them ready and in the fridge. Lasagne is always easy with a salad. Pork chops on the grill with potatos cooking inside while DH works on the meat and a veggie in the microwave. Enchiladas are also fairly easy once you get the chilli premade. Pasta and salad are good too.

We once had an extended family in a GV for 5 nights. We asked each family group to be responsible for one meal during the 5 days. It was their choice if it was to be at midday or evening. We had 4 family groups, so that covered one main meal each day except one.

I have been a member at OKW for years. There is nothing there to cook on. Everything is a just a prop.

Cooking??? What's that??? LOL!! We really only do breakfast and a couple of lunches in our room. I haven't nor do I plan on using the stove decoration!! If we don't want to go out to dinner, we usually call for a pizza.

We usually have bagels and cereal for breakfast. Will use the microwave to heat up left overs from a restaurant.

Next summer, I do plan on using the "stove decoration". I gained 10 lbs this past summer and plan to eat healthier and not as much next summer!!

I guess I am an odd ball. I am lost without cooking some meals. I love to pick up a whole chicken and using time bake cook the chicken, while I sip my pina colada at the pool, for a dinner meal with stove top stuffing(my dd's fav), rice and vegetables. Also have cold cuts for sandwiches and lettuce, etc for salads, Dd's and myself live on salad
Also do pasta and bring homemade sauce frozen from home, yea on the airplane in my carryon I have a tupperware container of frozen sauce. Will also do Italian pork chops.
Breakfast is a definite in the room, if it's a pool day then we have big breakfast in room. also need to make chocolate chip cookies for dessert, DH must have his dessert.

LOL on the dessert! We always buy ice cream for our dessert. Of course, the Mickey bars in the parks are a must too! Last year, someone leaving on the day we arrived came out and asked if we were going to be there awhile. When we said we were just arriving, they went in and got their frozen ice cream treats and gave them to us. One was almost a full box of Eskimo pies!! I offered to pay, but they wouldn't hear of it. Now I plan to do the same thing when we leave next trip.

Spaghetti once each trip(jar or homemade sauce from home), with a salad and a fruit. We order pizza once each trip, and finish the salad off. Soup and sandwiches(or my kids' new favorite...pitas), ramen noodles, easy Mac, etc. I have used my electric skillet for shrimp before(but that took too much time peeling the shrimp), and I once made a chicken stir-fry with a side of minute rice. For that meal, I used the greatest of all inventions(the ziploc bag) filled with broccoli, carrots, baby corn, onion and green pepper I pre-cut at home, and found it traveled well in the cooler, but you could easily pick these things up in the frozen section when you arrive in Orlando. we always do breakfast in the room, except for the occassional character breakfast, and that is usually cereal, pop-tarts, bagels, instant oatmeal and grits(yes, we love these!).

this will sound odd to everyone, we cooked a filet (chateau briand ) roast...it was so simple. We put it in the oven for about 1 hour and thats it...for side dishes we made a really nice salad, french bread (you could probably bake the pillsbury kind i';m sure) and baby carrots... eveyone laughed when we said we were going to make this, but it too hardly any time to prepare and we got to go swimming for a while during cooking.
it is such an easy dinner (side note...we got the meat from a meat store ..it was about $80, but it fed 16 people). Now where in disney can you feed 16 people on $80...:) :)
we done spagetthi dinners stir frys, pillsbury cinnamon rolls are great...a couple of cans makes for an easy breakfast.

We did 3 dinners in the room on our most recent trip with 12 family members. Spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread one night; frozen fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and leftover salad one night; and hot dogs, beans, mac n cheese, and french fries one night. The last meal was really lunch stuff that was leftover and we needed to use it up - but eveyone enjoyed it and we plan to make another similar meal next time.

We only have been to HH so far. We've done the pasta, bread and salad dinner too. Love the Prego pasta bake for vacation...saves me an extra step. We took our crock pot with and made chicken one day and a pork roast another. Adding side dishes was a breeze. We found it easier to cook at HH than to go out (hard to believe, isn't it:D !).

Our first WDW DVC trip will be December. Will take the crock pot with but haven't quite planned that far ahead to figure out what to throw into it.
