What do you cook in the villa that is cheaper than eating CS?

I priced an order from wegoshop for meals like frozen pizza and a bag of salad ( trying to stay away from meals that require"extras" like spices, etc.) and figured out that by doing this we would only be saving around $20 for 3 days. We are usually in the parks a t meal times, so it would take some breaking of old habits to return to the villa to eat. We do enjoy CS but i read so much about the savings of eating in the villa...I just can't figure it out....PS..we don't have a car this trip...TIA

We have found (with our limited experience) that our savings come from having breakfast in our room (much lighter too) and some dinners such as a pizza from BW takeout along with a salad. If it's a day that the kids want to head back to the room and pool after an early morning at the park then we have lunch in our room or take sandwiches down by the pool. If you still haven't finished up at the park you may want to pack some apples, cheese and crackers, etc in a backpack and that keeps everyone happy until it's time to head back to the resort. It works for us with two DS's. With our stays generally for 2 weeks we find we need a break from eating out and actually enjoy eating in by ourselves with no rush. This year I plan to pack a few spices that I would look for to make chili and things like that-quick and easy meals.

We don't buy convenience food, but instead make the same "real" food we would at home. It is always a savings over convenience foods, and we don't like couter service.

No cooking for me...My vacation is from the kitchen too....;)

Even if you don't cook, bottles of water, sodas, chips, fruit etc will make a big difference. It's not just the meals that add up, it's the expensive snacks the "eating machines" (teenage boys) that add up for us.

We also cook a regular hearty breakfast in the room.

We cook like we do at home:

Hot breakfasts of eggs, bacon/sausage/ham, bread/bagels, etc.

Dinners are chicken, fish, pasta, etc. We also usually use one of the grill at a quiet pool for burgers, steaks, grilled corn, etc.
