What do you actually get at resale closing?

A week after close, DVC emailed a code to setup account or add contract to existing account. A week after that, DVC emailed inviting me to setup appointment to call MS for onboarding and book welcome home stay. I passed on that, knowing resales got nothing and MS didnt need any more busy work thrown their way. A week after that, the resale broker or title company (can't remember which) sent me an original copy of the warranty deed filed with Orange Co. FL Comptroller in a folder with a stylized Mickey ear pattern. My kid went nuts hollering we bought a hotel room at Disneyworld. I told her no honey, we bought 1/1000 of a room so we get to stay there a week each year. She was still all happy about the Mickey paper folder though.

Heck I just wanted a formal looking document of sorts that showed I actually bought something lol. I guess in a few days I will get mailed a Deed.

Maybe. You don't really need it. I only got one (maybe two?) deeds for five contracts. I printed out the whole screen of my recorded transactions in Orange County in case something were to happen to me. I also printed out my closing docs to show purchase price.

I think I got a fancy folder for one of them, seems like a waste of money to me. I'm happy with not paying for frills.

Thanks, it just seemed so weird! A pretty generic email with no attachments. I was like "this is it?" lol. I don't know what I was expected but sure didn't feel like I just bought or owned anything!

I know exactly what you mean! Our resale was the most expensive purchase of my life and I even signed it over docusign so never saw any physical paperwork. They could at least send one of the emails that you get when you book a stay saying they can't wait to welcome you home, and maybe a certificate to print out! :-)

I'm Canadian and we closed on our resale in Feb. The email from Mason said that they would mail us a paper copy of the deed but we never got it? Do I need it? Should I follow up? How do I prove that I own something if they don't send anything?

I just got the title information and info. from magic vacation title for my OKW contract- nothing else. Still waiting on contract to be loaded as well as points. With my direct Riviera purchase I did get the backpack and magnets- which I really like but again wasn't in it for that to be honest. But happy I will get to use it for my first welcome home in June. 25 days to go and we are getting excited. :)

We got a formal copy of the deed from Mason about 2ish weeks after closing that has the official seal. We also got a copy of the title insurance/policy from Mason about 4 weeks post closing via email.

The paper wouldn't prove it anyway. You prove it through the public records. You can search the comptroller site:
https://www.occompt.com/services/records-search/
I printed mine out and put them with my will.
Thank you for the link! I found mine was recorded last week, and I also found someone with almost the exact same name who paid off their mortgage for Holiday Inn Club Orange Lake (I love that resort) and recorded it the same week! I do not have a common last name.
What are the odds?!
