I heard a BOG podcast about this. In preparation of Valentine's Day, what do you LOVE about Disney.

A quick rule - keep it positive. If someone mentions something you disagree with, make like Elsa and let it go. This is meant to be fun, not a debate!

I'll start..

The first thing I love is pretty unique to my family. We go every year for Christmas and that makes it so much more special. First, the decorations stay up until the end of our vacation. Even though we arrive on Christmas Eve and leave on NYE day, it feels like Christmas all week. As I get older, it feels like Christmas goes by faster and faster. Being in Disney allows me to really bask in the holiday spirit. Along with this, my family is together all week. When we would spend Christmas at home, come December 26th, we returned to our normal lives - work, going out with friends, etc. At Disney, we're together the entire trip - which could be trying at times!

Next, I love to eat - in fact, I consider myself a foodie. But, I spend most of the year dieting. I count my calories, check the ingredients and try to eat as healthy as possible. When I go down to Disney, calories don't exist. I have dessert with lunch AND dinner and won't think twice about eating a huge sundae!

Extra Magic Hours. Every time we go to Disney, there's at least one night at Magic Kingdom in which the park is open until 3am. We've only made it to 3am once - but we usually stay until around 2am. There's something special about the park when it's empty in the dead of night. It's eery, until you realize you're in Disney. My sister and I have so many memories of running around Magic Kingdom getting some awesome photos on an empty Main Street.

I also love how in Disney - no one is embarrassed to act like a kid or be ridiculous. People dance in the street, wear buttons boasting their first trip or birthday (where else would you see that?) wear Mickey hats and even coordinate shirts. It's so much fun and it's a judgement-free zone.

The smell of the water. There's something nostalgic about the smell of the water in Small World. You may catch a similar whiff somewhere or at sometime during your normal day-to-day.. it instantly sends you back.

While going with smell - the smell of popcorn and candied nuts. Whenever I walk the streets of NYC, I smell the candied nuts carts - it instantly brings me back to Disney.

Last - I love the Magic Express. The Magical Express symbolizes the beginning (and unfortunately the end) of our trip. I love grabbing a Starbucks drink at Orlando International and boarding the bus. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you go under the Welcome arch into Disney. The Magical Express is more like a magic machine. You board from the airport - the normal world and depart at Disney. You're in Disney's world for your entire trip, before boarding the bus again and being transported to the normal world.

The magic. It sounds corny to those who don't 'get it' but there truly IS magic at WDW. There is a genuine happiness that people have about them when visiting. No other tourist area is like that. And I've traveled quite a bit.

I agree! Weve travelled all over with our girls and While I think some of our trips taught them more (Kenya, India) and we absolutely loved those trips there is nothing to us as magical as Disney! Its just the happy vibe the place has!

The CMs. Everyone has always been so kind and patient; I'll especially never forget the CM at BLT who happened to be in the elevator with us and distracted my overtired kindergartener by talking in a Mickey voice, or the CM who picked our family for the VIP Jungle Cruise and asked my young sons to sign her VIP autograph book.

Extra Magic Hours. Until last year, we always did day trips and stayed with relatives offsite. Last year was our first onsite visit and so it was the first time we experienced EMH. My teenaged daughter and I went back to close down MK and had the time of our lives. Usually she can't be bothered to be seen with us, but we sang along with the Frozen soundtrack on Main Street, visited Tink and the princesses, and did all kinds of things, just the two of us, and had a blast.

The food. Obviously it can be hit or miss, depending on where you go, but Epcot got some picky family members to try all kinds of new things and love them.

Other guests. Have we encountered rude people? Yeah. But we've passed the time in line by chatting with some really super-nice people and along the way picked up tips for future visits.

The "magic". My husband had never been as a kid, and seeing him discover things for the first time has been a hoot. He's become a full-fledged Disney nut.

I love many things about wdw. First and foremost I love the electric light parade, both because of the nostalgia and also because of the joy it brings my daughters.

This may sound odd, but I also love the magical way more than 60,000 cast members manage 52 million visitors nearly seamlessly. Trash dissappear unseen, boats and busses and monorails take you anywhere you want to go on property in a manner of minutes. Truckfulls of food and merchandise roll in to restock shops and eateries without the guests ever seeing them. Hotel room doors open with the wave of a wrist. The entire operation is a logistical marvel that leaves me awe struck each time I experience it. I know it is a strange thing to love, but love the magic of such a massive logistical wonder.

The Memories! I could write pages on everything great about WDW that makes these memories, but I'd have to say first and foremost, the cast members.

The feeling I get when I'm in the Magic Kingdom. I can walk around all by myself and never feel lonely. It really is the most magical place on earth.

1. I can act like the Big Kid I really am, meeting favorite characters, spinning the Tea Cups as fast as I can, riding Star Tours over and over...

2. I can RIDE RIDES! Lots and lots of rides that are fun for all ages without being too extreme or scary. To me, this is one of the most awesome things about Disney; they do a great job of having plenty of things to do for guests of any interests or abilities.

3. Being in the "Disney Bubble" - maybe it isn't really safer than the "outside world," but it certainly feels that way. I love the (for me) convenience of ME, the on-site Disney transportation (even the buses), and the way it feels (at least to me) that if you had a problem, there would always be someone around to help.
