what do we do in 3 days ?

we are a family of 5. the kids are 6 (girl),13 and 15 (boys). We are staying 4nights,3 days in feb. at the marriot world resort. I have a princess and two rollercoster boys. Do we need a rent a car? How can I plan the excitement and rides for the boys and see MK for my princess? What kind of tickets for parks would you suggest? Thanks...I'm so confused!

Welcome! You will all have a great time at WDW. There's something for everyone. Well, renting a car is really a personal decision. I ususally stay on-site, but still like to have a car for side trips to the grocery store, etc. If I was staying off-site, I would most certainly want a car because I don't like to have to wait for a crowded bus back to my hotel after a long day at the parks. I'd check with your hotel though on their bus service.

As far as your DSs, there are lots of good rides at MK and your DD can see her Princesses too. Most of the rides at WDW are fairly tame. No major coasters, so you all can probably go on the rides depending on DD's height (and is she is agreeable).

I suggest going to MGM and MK for the rides and characters. I personally love EPCOT, but can see that it might not be the best one for teens. As far as AK, it's a nice park and they do have some good rides for your DS's.

As far as tix go, I like the park hoppers, but I'm not sure about 3 day park hoppers. I normally buy the 5 day PH for my DH and DDs. I have an AP for myself for the discounts. I like the 5 days because I know we will always come back to WDW and these are good for life. Prices are always going up, so you are ultimately saving money if you plan on coming back.

As sprtnfan says, there is something for everyone at Disney. You might want some time to split up, though, where your DH can take the boys for RnR & ToT while you take your DD to some of the 'kid' stuff like Bear in the Big Blue House, for example. I suggest looking over all the things to do in each park (there's a lot more than just rides!) and seeing which your boys want to do and some things that just your DD is interested in going to. This is what we did on our last trip since some in our group liked the thrill rides while others wanted to stick to the tame stuff, only. It worked well for us!

We're going for 3 1/2 days and 4 nights as well. Here's our tentative plan!

Weds- arrive around 12:30 at WL concierge- check in; Head to MGM; Grab some lunch; Check out Playhouse Disney first!!!
Dinner- undecided???

Thurs- concierge breakfast; head to MK; lunch somewhere in the park; head back to the room after the parade; dinner- maybe Ohana; monorail back to the MK to watch spectromagic and wishes

Fri- breakfast at Chef Mickeys; monorail to Epcot; lunch somewhere in Epcot; head back to the room for some rest; dinner at San Angel

Sat- concierge breakfast; Animal Kingdom; lunch at Rainforest Cafe; Dinner- undecided; maybe go to Downtown Disney.

Sun- go home

any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
we have a 2 year old daughter- so any plans are "likely" to change at a moments notice! LOL
