Hi everyone,

Our flight lands as a domestic flight (from Atlanta) at 6:20pm. I'm reckoning on 90 mins from disembarking, getting bags and car and arriving at the Hard Rock. Let's say 8pm, so this would be around 1am in my head.

What would people do that night! We were thinking of a swim and then room service... We like the idea of walking to City Walk, but not so sure we'd "cope"... The Hard Rock room service menu is lovely........ But a bit extravagant?!

What do people do on their first night?

I've not stayed at that resort but I can give you my advice.
I would say see how you feel it's a long day of travelling and you might want to hit the ground running but if you are anything like us you will hit a wall.
We normally get in around the same time so we head to the resort and check in. Get our bags to the room and unpack enough for the first night and next day. If you fancy a swim then make sure your suits are on top of your packing or in your hand luggage so you don't have to dig for it.
We go and get some food but by the time we have done all that we are shattered. We did make it once to MK on our first night but we were punch drunk with tiredness and we ended up not really enjoying it.
We do try to stay up as late as possible but normally by 10pm we are done. So we go to bed and it's up stupidly early to make the most of our first day.

City Walk is only a 10 minute or so walk from HRH so if you're checked in by then, I'd suggest strolling over there to stretch your legs and wander around the shops and see if there's an eatery that takes your fancy as there'll be plenty of snacks and restaurants depending on how hungry you are.

Personally, when I go I like to do a wander and keep myself occupied until about 10pm US time, then I call it a night and aim to get an early start the next day. Generally I don't eat anything because I've stuffed myself like a piggy on the flight over.

Hope you have a good time.

i'd stroll over to citywalk, have a bite, stroll back and collapse in bed so that i'm able to wake up at the crack of dawn to make use of early entry into the park.

I d stroll over to citywalk and get a very quick bite to eat rather than proper meal. If you get to bed early you can get to the park for the early access

We are the same - should be landing at the same time, hope to be checked in by 8pm. We tend to shower, then take a short walk to get some quick food, and then head to bed around 9:30-10pm. The walk is good because you've been cooped up all day. Why not head to City Walk and grab some counter service food?

I would agree with this :thumbsup2

If we land of evening we like to get out for bit and grab a small bite to eat. I then unpack once DD is in bed.

we shower, change into our bathing suits and go to the pool (weather permitting) for half an hour or so

Then go for a stroll and grab something to eat

We try not to go to bed before 10 or 11pm to avoid waking up at silly o'clock
