I don't know what pool hopping is. If it involves a neighbor named Bert or Bart staying up till 3:00 am parting at the community pool, playing loud music and laughing his odd and strange laugh, yes I find that very annoying. I hate the nights when Bart party hops at the pool.

Pool hopping is staying at a value and using a pool at a deluxe that one is not supposed to be using.

I think there's far less traffic on DIS overall than there used to be -- good and bad stuff -- or at least it seems that way.

Perhaps having other options to get info (including Disney themselves being way better than they were years ago) is having an impact. I don't think it's just the increased compartmentalization on DIS and the moving of so many threads.

But what do I know?!

Here's one we can all agree on: posters who start threads that have us wondering how things turn out, and who never come back to follow up. Case in point: brown paper bag in the window.

"My child has just turned one, but I can tell he is a special genius. Should I pre-pay for Princeton, Stanford, or Yale. Oh, never mind, I am sure he will get full ride scholarships."

Or worse, the person (who shall remain nameless) who bragged and bragged about her children, until they were indeed college age, and then she disappeared. Last I heard one went to community college and one didn't go to college.

Not everyone here has gifted kids. They just don't.

I have never heard of so many gifted kids before the DIS! For a while it seemed like every post was a parent of a gifted child with some sort of quandary about the perils of parenting a gifted child...... "my child TRULY is gifted......" As if all the other gifted kids were not AS gifted as their kid.

On the DVC board: "Did I make a good purchase?" - and it gets especially egregious if they've financed their DVC purchase!
