What do I do when arrive to WDW?

I'll be arriving in the next few days to Pop Century for 7 days. I have done the on-line check in, and in the interest of maximizing time, I'd like to know what I should do when I arrive. My flight lands at 5pm and my plans are to arrive through magical express to wdw. I want to do Disney Quest as soon as we arrive but not sure if I have to check in first and pickup any paperwork they might have for me. Should I just wait for the end of the night to check in/wait for your room is ready text message since it seems I'd only have 3.5 - 4 hrs to do Disney Quest? We have our magic bands and disney quest vouchers so also wondering if they need to be activated before we use them?

hi there and you must be so excited for your trip!

it depends on how you purchased your tickets, but it sounds like you purchased them online and received vouchers to exchange for the actual tickets, yes? if that's the case, you'll leave the hotel after you get checked in and settled. (sidenote: if the room isn't ready when you get there, that's okay. you can do anything to fill the time, including disney quest, and when you're ready to come back, either head up to your room if you know the room number or ask at the front desk where you should be headed.) from there you'll go to the guest relations/vacation planning windows at downtown disney, conveniently located right next to disney quest! they'll exchange your vouchers for tickets, and you'll be all set!

Don't forget to include about 90 minutes to get to MDE at the airport and board a bus, any wait for a bus, and travel time to Pop. Could be longer, could be shorter. It will probably be easier to check in and get your room to drop things off and then go. But you could leave things with bell services as well. At 6-7pm your room will be ready. I do think if you have vouchers you will need to activate them at guest services, but at least pre construction there was a window right by disney quest. Have fun!
