What discontinued snack/beverage would you bring back?

I liked when cereal manufacturers were allowed to shout "SUGAR" in large print on the boxes.

Clearly Canadian black cherry
New York seltzer
Nabisco bacon crackers
(and just a side note, with all the Dr. Pepper talk, I swear Dr. Pepper down south is much better than the north, bottle, can, fountain... it's spicier for lack of a better word. I don't drink it up here, but when I go south I try to get my fill)

I live in Central PA and we have Gibbles in our grocery stores.

You do!! Where is this? I must make a road trip! I read that the company went out of business, but now I see that it returned in 2014. I used to buy Gibbles at Giant when I worked in surburban Philadelphia, but since I haven't been over there in a while, maybe they have them again too. You have made me very happy!

Vienetta Ice Cream.
They don’t make this anymore? Sad :sad1:. My DGrandma thought they were the height of elegance and served one to end every special meal. I miss you Grandma!
Are you guys talking about jambusters? The big doughnut with no hole and the middle is squirted in?...

...ETA- I was curious and did some Googling and discovered that jambuster is a Manitoba term. Who knew??

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about (aboot) it’s also called a Bismarck.
I was pretty sure what you were describing was a jelly Bismarck. They’re still widely available as far as I know. My favourites (which I haven’t actually seen for ages) was from the Safeway bakery counter and was filled with grape jelly and coated with crunchy, fine granulated sugar instead of icing sugar. LOVED those grape jelly bismarcks! :lovestruc

It's not discontinued in Texas (home of Dr. Pepper, so that may help), as it's one of my go-to drinks. I agree that it's so much better than the diet version!

Sounds like I need to make a trip to Texas and fill my suitcase

After my sweet husband went to every store in Louisville looking for it, I Googled and found they had pulled it out of most markets. Through my Googling, I found that tons of people were upset about it, but I guess not enough to bring it back.

My big one was Chocodiles. Those were discontinued even before Hostess went out of business. They have brought them back, and they still taste pretty close, but are about 30% smaller. Boo!

I also miss Pepsi Blue. I think I was the only person who actually liked it.

Cookies called Lemon Coolers put out by Sunshine I believe. My sister says the girl scouts sell a similar cookie but I never think to try it. A few years ago Walmart had a similar cookie but it disappeared from the store after I bought a few boxes.

I liked Lemon Coolers too. The Girl Scouts’ Savannah Smiles are pretty good. You can also try Archer Farms Lemon Cookie Straws from Target.

Schwans made these soft pretzels stuffed with peanut butter and jelly. Loved those when my kids were toddlers. They made a great snack!
With all the others miss Hostess cupcakes. Made my dh run out one night when I was pregnant in 1994 and get me a pack from the corner store. He got pulled over for speeding for his hungry, pregnant wife and got a ticket :-(
New york Seltzers - miss the black cherry
Charleston Chews - can't find them around here
Soda in tall glass bottles (cherry coke specifically)

Jolly Rancher Stix. I don't see them any more. They still have the minis. But not the stix.

Sugar Daddies. These were the best thing for pulling a tooth.

They still make sugar daddies and are pretty widely available in the middle TN region at least. My folks and many of their teammates keep them in their tennis bags in case anyone needs a sugar lift.

So, I was curious and googled (google images only) "Jelly Bismark". From what I can see, they look like jelly doughnuts. Can someone explain the difference?

Yep. Way back when, Tastykakes used to go stale in about two days. Now they're so loaded with preservatives they last for a month or so.

:thumbsup2

I've seen Tree Tavern pizza in my local Shop Rite. The box still has the same design it had in the 1960's.

Oh wow! I’ll have to check out our Shop Rite. Now, will it be any good? Sometimes our memories should just stay memories.

I tried the Tree Tavern pizza for nostalgia's sake about three years ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as I remember as a kid. Kinda crappy, actually.

I can't remember the name but it was a snack mix similar to Chex Mix. Dodads? No clue but miss them!

I recently bought a box of original Mraft Mac and cheese, feeling nostalgic. It was terrible! The noodles fell apart and were even cheaper seeming than the original. Yuck.

I miss the McDonald's little short bread cookies that were shaped like the McDonald's character. They came in a little box with a handle. I loved those things. Also I really miss the pineapple upside-down cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, it was so good.

I had forgotten all about those cookies until I read your post - I loved those cookies!

I miss Chunky bars too...
