May be time to cull the herd a bit. I've debated making mine draw straws, but Im worried my favorite may lose.... Anyone who says they love all their kids the same either only has one or is lying... LOL.
Ok, ok. I love them all.. I just like some better from time to time.

You know, a couple of them have blond hair, and I never understood where that came from...:scratchin

Let me put your mind at ease. I know a thing or two about genetics. You’re definitely the father.

(Don’t anyone tell him I know nothing about genetics, but do know the mailman has blonde hair.)

Back for my yearly reminder...March is colorectal cancer awareness month. It is the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the U.S. and the second leading cause of cancer death. Yet this cancer can be prevented with screening and is highly treatable when detected early. In the U.S., about 10% of colon cancer cases are diagnosed in people under 50 which is why the recommended screening age is now 45,down from 50. Those numbers are rising about one to two percent each year. Young adults are the only population group experiencing an increase in colorectal cancer, and it's currently the deadliest cancer among young men and the second deadliest among young women. A colonoscopy is the gold standard of screening but other forms are available for people with average risk. I didn't have any symptoms other than being slightly anemic (1/2-pint low if you were checking your dipstick in your car is how they explained it to me) when I went for my happy 50th birthday colonoscopy. I woke up to the MD telling my wife "large tumor, further testing". Long story short, 10 years ago today I was discharged after having 1/3 of my colon removed. You don't have to have symptoms to get screened. Doing so may save your life, it did mine. If you don't do it for yourself, do it for the ones you love.

This year is my year for my first.

Hey, guys!

Hope everyone's doing well. Thins have been going pretty good in the land of Cape Cod. Completed another circle around the sun on the 11th. Never did I ever think as a kid I'd ever live to see 55, but here I am...killin' it! And why am I killin' it? Because my DMiL said so. She gave me a birthday card that says, "In case you didn't know it, you're AWESOME!" So I have it on good authority that I am awesome, and killin' it! Temperatures are getting warmer, though still cool, and even cold at times, but getting warmer. Which is nice. I'm so looking forward to spring and summer. That storm that's been breezing its way across the country is due to hit us here in the Northeast tonight and into tomorrow. Apparently we're due to get a lot of rain tomorrow. Not much we can do about it except to sit back and enjoy it. Training of that new guy a few weeks back went well. One of the doctors was out that day so we had far fewer patients that day, which made for an easier day of training.

Well, that's it. Have a good day, everyone.

If nothing else, that'll keep you busy.
Busy can make a day seem shorter, but doesn't help the stress levels.

And it did make the day go by quite quickly.

Ouch, good luck with that. Hope they are a quick study

The guy did picked up pretty quickly. He's been on his own now for a couple of weeks and, with the exceptions of a few curve balls that get thrown his way from time to time, is doing real well.

Appreciate it! :thumbsup2

We've been talking about visiting WDW for our family vacation this summer. My youngest son (age 11) wasn't tall enough for all of the rides last time we visited, so we feel like we owe him that experience. But man...pricing this out for a family of 6 is not for the faint of heart. We're debating staying off-site for the first time in our family's history, just because the costs have become so exorbitant.

It was expense for us and it was only 3 of us. I'd hate to see what 6 would cost. However, if staying off-site helps it'll at least get you down to the World.

The costs for one person are exorbitant...

You sure all those kids are yours?

I'm with pkondz, I'd get some testing done.

I had my first one last year, put off a couple of years due to COVID. Since I was getting a camera shoved up my rear by someone I had just met, I knew I had to break the ice. I told the doctor that I was originally from Roswell, NM, and that if they found an alien baby inside me to just leave it. That did it. Everyone in the room at the time busted up laughing, myself included. It made things a lot less stressful. And yes, the best nap of my life. All kidding aside, I recommend it. A bit of inconvenience for something that could save your life.

Happy birthday CCT!
Hope you’re celebrating in style.

:cake:

Thanks.

An interesting start to the week. Not only is it pouring rain outside, but the fire department showed up because someone smelled electrical smoke. They didn’t find anything, but I suspect something burnt out in a light fixture somewhere that happened to be right next to a fan for the HVAC system.

Don’t keep us in suspense…

Did you???

I did make it to 55!

Make up your mind.

Why would I do that? Lot more fun if I don’t. Keeps everyone on their toes. 😁

From your DMIL???????

Yep! The DMiL!
Was it meant to be sarcastic?

I didn’t ask, so I’m not taking it as being sarcastic.

Why bother? I mean... it's raining. Just open a window.

Enquiring minds wanted to know.
