What did you do for vacation BEFORE you became obsessed with Disney?

There was no "before Disney". It was my first major vacation as a child and I'm still hooked 30 years later. I only go to WDW about every 3rd vacation because as much as I love it, there is a whole world to see.

Honestly, I've been going to Disney since I was a little girl of about 7 years old. My family took me a lot - not every year - but a lot. We have relatives in FL so it was easy to do because we had a free place to stay. We also went to the beach quite a bit, particularly the Outer Banks of NC. I've spent a lot of time there. Our other vacation spot was the Great Smokey Mountains, or the Blue Ridge Moutains.

As I got older, I sort of lost interest in Disney and as a young girl I was a beach hound. Loved going to the beach, or New York City with my friends. That was my thing.

Then.... when I got married in 1994 we went for our honeymoon. DH had never been. He went bezerk! An instant Disney freak which brought out and renewed my love of Disney. So, we've been every year since (except 2000), often more than once a year. We've been to Southern California (of course we did Disneyland one day), London, the Outer Banks and some other places but Disney is our main vacation destination.

That's my story. I really really want to go to Hawaii :woohoo:. That's my dream. It's so expensive that every time I plan it, we end up back at Disney. Which is getting so expensive that maybe I'll make it to Hawaii soon after all.

I've always been a huge Disney fan, but didn't go to WDW much...every few years...but now I've been to Disney 6 times in the last 4 years. I just don't have a desire to go anywhere else right now. Before Disney I went to Las Vegas once a year and then usually a smaller trip like to New York or Chicago, Hershey Place in PA, or Boston, ect...Vegas was the big one though and I haven't been in 5 years now. I'm thinking of going back though once they finish the new complex that is going to have the Elvis Circe de Solei show. I HAVE to go to see that.

Living in SC we always did the annual week long beach trip and a few long weekend trips. We also visited the NC mountains alot. We are considering taking a Disney break in 2008 and taking the kids somewhere else. My oldest doesn't even want to consider going anywhere but Disney and Universal/Sea World. I'm afraid we have created a Disney junkie!!! :dance3:

Mostly camping. The first visit to WDW opened up a whole new world.

We went to nudist resorts. We should be able to start doing that again next year and going to WDW.:thumbsup2

We were (and still are) obsessed with the beach. Beach vacations May through September, WDW vacations September through May (yeah, there's a couple of months of overlap there :goodvibes ).

Just about anywhere. I still vacation just about anywhere, with a trip to Disney inbetween.

I´ve been on holiday to Spain, China, USA, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, France, Austria, Luxemburg, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Mexico.

Our first "real" trip involving hotel stays and fun things to do for a few days was to Kentucky and the Cumberland Falls. Other than that we used to spend a couple of nights over at Lake Michigan. All good memories. :goodvibes
