what did you do fist time you joined

Well, I got my NPC credits and credits from codes. Then I tried to play games and found the only one that worked well on my Mac was Jungle Cruise. I figured out the strategy for playing Jungle Cruise and got tons of credits for getting on the top ten list. I discovered Nedding too and told everyone I saw that you could just crash the boats and you'd get 20 credits. Then they changed the Jungle Cruise to be what it is like now. I still was able to make the top ten list but not as often. Boo!

Somewhere in there was the Parade event which I was unable to get into so I didn't get to play the games that went along with it and all that stuff. Not too long after that, they had a Pin Trading Rom event so I finally bought some furniture and decorated my room. I worked very hard at setting up the room all afternoon to make it look like a pin trading room - small areas of grouped seating with tables for trading - only to discover the winning rooms didn't look like pin trading rooms at all! But at least my room was judged. Many rooms didn't get judged at all.

So would you like to know what the original strategy for Jungle Cruise was? It was kind of clever. There wasn't enough film to take pictures of every animal and you were quite likely to run out of gas so you had to pay attention to those numbers. The real key was the photo album which is useless now. To improve your score, you needed to go through the pictures you had taken to see which animals in which rooms gave you the best scores. Then you had to plan your game so that you took pictures of the highest scoring animals with your limited amount of film for each room. Now there isn't much strategy at all. You can take pictures of the gas cans or yourself and still end up with a ton of extra film.

I didn't mean to focus on the negative. I'm quite ill right now with an abcessed tooth - lots of pain (vicodin helps a lot), nausea from antibiotics and my face feels all weird because the swelling is stretching the skin so tight. I recommend treading lightly around me as just about anything can send me into a tizzy at this point. :sad2:

So, on the positive side, I made a lot of new friends, came out of lurking on the Dis VMK board, discovered closing time dances and found the Surf Spot. I couldn't begin to count the number of Sweet Teas I drank and how much floor pizza I ate in the Surf Spot! I became a regular closer at the Surf Spot - back when boys against girls was important and a lot of the closing talk was just people saying, "last".

I was asked to be taken and stupidly I was new and said yes I started in december then after I stoped taken when christmas quest came out I was givin green hat for 2 buyable christmas items then got rare from pink doors like haunted suit peices and firewalls then got gold snowman for top hat and other stuff.

LOL, that's funny Foamy and Emery!

We were planning a trip to DL and I got an e-mail from mousesavers saying "VMK marks 1 million guests" and I was like, "WHAT on earth is VMK, and why is it in my mousesavers e-mail???" :rotfl2:

I signed up, tried to wade through the help tutorial, went and bought a camera and walked around taking pictures of everything BUT the hidden mickeys :rotfl: I had no clue they would be THAT hidden.

Oh and I actually thought the characters they described - that you could find to get daily credits - I thought that they actually walked around the park, like in DL and WDW. I was desperately looking for Mickey and Donald. :p

My first day was spent walking down Main Street. I found VMK Central and did the Hidden Mickey search. I still enjoy walking down Main Street...

Wow, I have an eerily similar first days of VMK. I didn't know what I
was doing, and someone showed me how to click on NPC's for credits.
Games were still intimidating back then, too. :)

OK, my story. I sort of hung out in Central Plaza. Crying out sometimes. "How do you get a camera?"

Until Sweetbread took pity on me. She said, "We seem to have a lot in common." And from then on, I met the best people in the world!

The first thing I did was get a princess hat and walk around VMK trying to blend in with the locals. But of course Seas and Out had to ruin it for me when they said a boy wearing that hat stood out like a sore thumb.

i checked out the rooms in fantasy land and played fir works for the first time.
i got really excited about it and told my mom. of course i lost the first round but i didn't care! :p

It was July 22nd...

...and I was the first one to join of my family and the home-page didn't tell you things such as how to talk...lol

I went to Adventureland Bazaar (I have no reason why there of all places) and I stood there. Like a mute. watching as people talked around me lol. Because I didn't know how to type, I couldn't ask "how do we type?" I clicked every button down there but failed to click in the thin black space lol.

Finally I learned how to type...but I couldn't say a word I wanted to lol. At first, before I knew what ### meant. I thought people were swearing at me!

After I learned the basics...in Adventureland Bazaar rofl, I went to my room and created a sad looking thing. One...maybe two chairs! lol

After I learned placement of furniture and how to get around easier, I created a game room -- most pathetic thing in the world. lol.

I wandered around and explored, then slowly found codes and bought stuff. Soon enough- I had my own hotel!

These guys took me in as part of there "family" .Then my name changed and it took them forever to figure out it was me. When i figured out it was not right, I ditched them and found uh, nevermind.

Oh, and I also helped this guy out on the monorail who was getting really annoyed by this girl who wouldn't type anything and just followed him arround in the seats. He sat by the fish tank and I sat next to him. Then the girl gave us the angry emotion and left.
