I went to a SBing retreat last weekend and took almost everything since I dind't know what to expect. Well a lot I never touched and I think I want to declutter or at least donate down to my girls craft stuff.

For me the fancy shears (I only used 2 pair) and the fancy cutting edge paper trimmer I haven't used more than once....

So before I start buying more stuff I was wondering what others have but don't use.

I have one of those tag makers. You put your own paper in the metal frames, put it in the maker and squeeze. Never used it. It is still in it's package.
Anyone wanna trade?

I keep buying stamps, but I haven't used more than half of them even once.

A bunch of unused stamps, here too. They look cool when other people use them, but I always seem to make a mess - of myself, the project AND the work space. However, that being said, I'm not getting rid of them.

I have a few pairs of the decorative scissors and use them occasionally - most often the deckle edge. The others are available if I need them, but I don't take to crops unless the project calls for it.

I got rid of a bunch of punches and regretted it afterwards. My new rule is - tools, I keep.

Everything!

I go through phases where I think I'll use XYZ and I never do. Then when I do a purge I wonder why I bought it in the first place.

I have the fancy scissors, I gave those to DD. I have punches that I've only used once or twice but I won't get rid of them.
Flat stickers. I never use flat stickers. I've finally started getting rid of those. DD puts them in her sticker book.

I tend to buy duplicates, it's my "just in case" gene. I have got to stop doing that!

I think my worst investment has to be the Curvy Cutter system. I'm just not a "curvy" person....lol

Actually, everytime I need a circle or oval, this system doesn't give me enough options in sizes.

Its the fancy scissors here too. Gifted them to daughter - I do purge stickers I needed for one project then don't see myself using again. DD has quite a sticker collection.!!

Never got too into the stamps  the one set I bought might still be around here somewhere....

Um...vellum tape runner. Can never get vellum to look like it does in my minds eye!

sheers, stickers-I bought a cricut so about the only type I will use are Jolee-I have pulled the rest into a bag for kids school stuff, stamps

I always feel I need to buy the latest kit from Creative Memories and then I don't use them. I have hundreds of dollars of those kits, I think they're called power palettes, and I hardly ever reach for them. I am challenging myself to use those up this year though, so if you see me in the challenges on here using a lot of Creative Memories stuff, that is why!

I've never bought a punch, but I got some as a gift a few years ago and have never used them. Also a lot of stamps I don't use. I have a hole-punch that's a rectangle and I bought it specifically to thread ribbon, and I cannot remember the last time I used it. I really should come up with a lay-out to use that.

I went hog wild with paper and stickers when I first started scrapping because DH and I were childless and had extra income. After DS was born I got a baby bug and the stickers started collecting dust. It is amazing how quickly paper can go out of style. That has been part of my mission this year, to get through the sticker stash. Other things I have not used have include the wiggle edge scissors (a friend bough them for me and I never use them), some flat stickers, and some page kits.

I would like a curvy edge cutter, I just have a straight one.

*Decorative scissors. I gifted mine to my scrapbooking nieces (probably 10+ pairs:rotfl:). (Although wouldn't you know... just yesterday I was looking for my pinking shears and I couldn't find them!!)

*Rubber stamps.... I use my alphabet ones, but that is about it. I occasionally challenge myself to use one or two... but I generally end up hating the results. I should get rid of most of them... especially the cheap foam ones.

*Vellum.... never could quite figure out a good way to use this. And again... just yesterday I pulled out a drawer full, thinking it was my drawer of metallics. I poked through it and then just put it away. Why didn't I get rid of it???

*Creative Memories shape cutters. I received the oval cutting set and used it a lot when I first got it, but haven't used it now in years. I also received another set of shapes (stars, etc) that I never even opened. Should have ebayed it years ago.

*Slide mounts. These looked cool a few years ago when people were using them a lot in the magazines. I bought loads of them, but have probably used about 4 over the past 5 years of scrapping. Yet I still have a whole drawer dedicated to them. WHY!

*Magic Mesh. I bought a few colors a few years ago when this was "all the rage" in the magazines. But again, I couldn't figure out how to use it. I finally sent it along to my nieces just this past Christmas.

*Foam letters. I bought a small amount of these on clearance and used them a few times and really liked them. So I went a little crazy buying many different colors/types. But of course, I got sick of using them. And then I discovered that the longer they are stored, the less sticky they become. So the only way I can use them now is if I put them through my Xyron. Again, I still have an entire drawer dedicated to these. I will challenge myself to use some this week and then maybe decide if I am going to keep the remainders or ditch them. I suppose the school might like them... but then again, maybe not since the sticky isn't working.

*Stickers.... just like rubberstamps, I can't always figure out where/how to use them, so I use them rarely... yet I have PLENTY of them. I did set aside a bunch to get rid of recently.

HTH............P

I've got loads of stickers - sort of gone off them now:rolleyes1 And millions of eyelets - I love eyelets, and use them a lot on swaps, but never think about putting them on a "from scratch" page:confused3
I'm also terrible about "saving" things, not "wasting" or cutting pretty paper - HELLO? What is it for............:rotfl: Oh yes, scrapping!:lmao:

oh lets see... I am the queen of the $ stamps from m's, ac moore, j's... I KEEP buying them because I "might" need them someday... I did just buy a snail one but that one I will actually use (actually already did use it once) since as y'all know, dd's school mascot is a snail and that continues to crack me up...

ribbon... I have a lot that again, I "might" need someday...

the tools to use wire... and wire NO idea what I was thinking on that one.

eyelets, brads...

I could go on but those are the things right off the top of my head. :)

I am jealous of your slide mounts! I have been hunting for some for awhile, but cannot find any anywhere! May I ask where you bought them? :)

And to be on topic, I was just gifted a bunch of scrapbooking stuff (my boyfriend's mom decided she likes cross stitch better ;)), but now I have a bunch of paper and stickers I know I will never use, because they are not my style. She is a principal, so she had a bunch of teacher-y looking stuff. So I would say, don't buy overly themed stuff (school, travel, yes even Disney! ;)) unless you know exactly what you will be using it for. Although... I sometimes break this rule too. :)

:rolleyes1Another one here with the decorative scissors(let my DD7 borrow them) she uses them for everything. I also have lots of paper and stickers I don't use- I just give it all to my DD. She puts about 25 stickers on every page she does- so that gets rid of alot. LOL

Also LOTS of ribbon.

Glad I'm not the ONLY one with this problem. . . . .except I haven't purged anything yet. And duplicates -- beat you on that one -- I have to have at least 3, 4, sometimes 5 sets because if my kids see the layout and really like it they want to do the same for their books.

I've got a bunch of eyelets that I'm too lazy to use. I had the decorative scissors, but except for my Mickey ones (that I've used ONE time, lol), I gave them all to DH's cousin to use. I've got a bunch of "baby" paper too, and I'm not sure why? No more babies here.

I did have a bunch of pink papers that I got in packs, but I gave almost all of it to a relative (she has girls, I have boys).

there is nothing I really regret buying. other than not buying more when I found good deals.

I LOVE my rubber stamps if only they weren't so expensive I'd own everyone I could ever find

I love my stickers and used tons have tons more

I guess I'd like to learn better how to use brads and buttons maybe that would be a regret have lots but are intimidated by them.
