What did you bake today ? OK if not from scratch

My daughter and I made Hershey's perfectly chocolate cake this afternoon for dessert tonight. Smells really good and easy to make too! Christmas cookies tomorrow and probably Monday also!

My very favorite cake and frosting.
I am going to have DGD bake me one for my birthday next month as part of her baking lessons.

Yesterday I made Toll House Cookies to add to all the others already made and in the freezer. Today I am making chocolate and peanut butter fudge, and then all my baking and candy making will be finished. I just have to make the tins to give out to the neighbors which I will do on Wednesday after I get home from church where I am helping make bags of cookies to hand out after Christmas Eve service.

{{sigh}} I'm jealous. No in-person church activities for us this year but as far as I know it's still not illegal to drop a box of cookies on a doorstep. Merry Christmas.

Gruyere double cream sounds wonderful!

So tasty. I live about 20km from Gruyere (hence it is easy to find here). One of the traditional desserts here is Gruyere double cream, meruinges, and fruit. Most grocery stores sell package of cream and meringues. I actually took a picture recently for a friend. Let me try to find it.

From a mix, devils food cake and my frosting is from a jar today. For dinner we are having pre-marinated pork tenderloin and boxed au gratin potatoes. I have been wrapping and wrapping and wrapping ... no energy for scratch food. Luckily my men are good with this!
