What did you absolutely hate about CBR?

And have been staying at POP since it opened. However, my last trip to POP I got a room near the elevator, and heard EVERYONE in the hall way. :sad2: So, I remembered staying at CBR in 2003, and how QUIET it was. :goodvibes So, I am booking it for Nov. if a Fl. Resident Code comes out. ;) Sure, its spread out but I heard the Refrigerators are back, and plan on making a Grocery stop on the way up. :teeth:

What we really hated was...having to leave! :sad1:

But seriously, we really enjoyed our stay there. It was one of our best trips.

Hated nothing. :confused3

We loved the CBR. Wanted to stay there for our July trip, but was completly full. ( guess were not the only ones who love it.) :goodvibes

I would pick CBR over CS because Im not into convention type hotels..... :sad2:

But no matter what your at Disney :cool1:

Loved it all BUT...

I am sure there were people (Trinidad specifically) who must've had a LONG hike to everything. We happened to be in a building within a very short walk to a bus stop and the food court. So I had no problem but could easily see how some people may not like a hike everyday.

Well, I know it's Florida, and I have been spending summers there for over 30 years, but the centipedes that shared our bathroom/tile/shower area with us DAILY did not make me happy. We contacted mousekeeping, front desk, management...no one did anyhting to help remove them, nor did they respond kindly when we asked for a room change. We just dealt with it as they were not fast runners I just "remeoved" them each A.M. Nothing like one above your head in the shower to remind you to check each day. The bus system was not so hot when we were there, but it was mid August and it was crowded, so a lot of places probably had bus issues. I didn't like the BellHop system however, you had 2 different sets of guys moving your stuff, which was odd for me...double the work :confused3 The rooms were nice size tho, but we did get bit up on the beach by either sand fleas or no see ums, this is the only resort we have experience it at, out of CR, DOLPHIN,WL,ASMU....so not sure why, unless again, Aug...we have been June, July Aug and Dec. We lucked out on location and had only a 10 minute walk to the food court, Trinidad North I think, but we needed the front desk a few times and we did not like that hike and the bus to get there was really slow. I like convenient access to the front desk and Concierge areas.

Hated absolutely nothing at CBR except having to leave and pay for it. We've stayed at CBR 3 times and CSR twice. Both resorts are huge, and you can definately have rooms far away from the food courts. CBR theming makes the walk more peaceful and enjoyable in my mind, never thought of the walk as a problem at all - just another opportunity to spend 1on1 time with family on vacation. Pepper Market @ CSR is nicer and has better food, but they add an automatic 10% or so tip to your otherwise self serve meal (CM will get you drinks or such if you wish/ask). Toss a coin, you'll be pleased with either.

I've lived in FL for 10 years and I've never even seen a centipede, let alone taken a shower with one.

The only thing I didn't care for was the distance from our building to the foodcourt and main pool. We stayed in Martinique #25, which I think is the second closest building to the foodcourt and it was still a hike.

We stayed at CBR twice. The first time we were in a room that was really near the stairs and there was no daylight. I like daylight so I wasnt happy there. The next time we stayed there it was my 3rd choice for resort and they put us in a really far away building but I whined and they put us in one that was close to a pool and pretty close to the food court and the building was blue so I was happy. :goodvibes My family didnt like it much though. I liked walking around the whole resort on their boardwalk. I didnt think the food was a s good as some of the other places.

The Busses! I thought they were reallllllllly bad.
The Bugs!
The Food Court and the looooooooooooooooooooong walk too it!

I thought the feature pool was lame, but other than that I enjoyed my stay there. We were (luckily) close to the OPR. I liked CBR, but there is nothing about the resort that makes me want to return. The only other resort that I feel that way about it All Star Music.

If you choose CBR, make sure you pay for a preferred room so you can be close. Me, I'm at CSR in August :).

I felt CBR was more relaxed that CSR. I definately liked the atmosphere more at CBR! The only thing I liked better at CSR was the pool. My hubby (not a Disney fan) REALLY liked CBR and said he would like to stay there again! I can not think of anything we disliked about CBR! :sunny:

I hated nothing about CBR, we enjoyed it very much. Like anything else, it has pros and cons, here is my experiance.

Con: Long walk to food court / feature pool.
Pro: The walk was beautiful, pleasant, and filled with happy people.

Con: Feature pool was closed for most of our stay. We'd walk by and it would be open, we'd walk a mile to get changed into swim suits, then a mile back and it would be closed again. No reason explained.
Pro: The quite pool in our island (Jamaica) was close and uncrowded. We had it by ourselved for long stretches of one evening.

Con: Even if we had gotten to swim in it, the feature pool is somewhat lame in comparison to other moderates. The themeing was cool, but a big part of my evaluation of a resort pool is the slide, which was short.

Overall our experience was very positive, we may stay there again someday, but not until we've tried all of the other moderates. I can't compare it to CSR, but I did prefer POFQ to CBR.

Other positives:
Our room was probably not even a 50 ft. walk from where we parked our car. That was so convienient, much much much better than AKL, WL, and to a lesser extent POFQ. Even though we were so close to our car, our room still faced a quiet and beautifully landscaped garden.
There were tree frogs all over, which my son thought was way cool. We caught a few and examined their suction feet. They were on the outside walls, in the quiet pool, etc. Some people may not have liked that, but we liked it and it added to the tropical flavor.
We also really enjoyed watching the fireworks from the top of the playground near the beach.

Hated all the stops within the resort on the busses, especially after a long day at the parks. Also hated Shutters. The shopping area was not impressive either.
We were lucky and had a perfered first floor room near the food area. I would have been upset with some of the locations being so far from where the "action" is. Was not impressed with the main themed pool which was overly crowded and chaotic.
It is peaceful and relaxing but somehow didn't have that Disney feel I have felt at other resorts. I kept forgetting that I wasn't just somewhere in Florida at a regular hotel. :confused3

We all absolutely love the CBR. From great-grandparents to toddlers. Never had a problem with bugs, buses, noise, beds, housekeeping..... and we must have spent at least 100 nights there in the last ten years. If you add together all the rooms it is more like 300 nights.
The CSR is too stark and too convention-oriented for us. We go to Disney to feel like we are on vacation not to have business folks whizzing past us with paperwork and laptops. It is also too much like Colorado and the tropical feel at the CBR is wonderful.
We love it so much that when we stay at a deluxe we always drive over and visit the CBR and sit by the Banana Cabana and reminisce.
Sometimes I read people's complaints about the CBR and I am amazed as it is if they are talking about a totally different resort.

I have to agree that the internal bus system is a major pain. We waited quite a bit for a bus several times. I would have to vote for CSR instead of CBR.

We did not hate CBR

Things that we did not like so much:

Too spread out. Luckily we were close to the main pool, but still took a long time to pick up everybody at the many bus stops.

I did not care for the layout of the main pool area- It is hard to keep an eye on the kids- Impossible to watch one in the kiddie pool, and have the other in the big pool. Even if both are in the big pool, the view is obstructed by the bridge, and slide.

We would stay there again if the price was right, and could not get into CSR.

The thing I most didn't like about the resort was that there were so many bus stops. Getting back we were one of the first stops so that was great but leaving it seemed like it took forever (not really forever hee hee) to go through all the other stops before we could get on the road. Nothing major but did bother us a little.

For the most part I liked cbr.We were there for H.Charlie last year. My only complaint is the loooong walk to the food court and main pool with a three year old in August. We were in building 11 in Barbados. :wave2:

I enjoyed the theme, the check in area was great and got me pumped for Disney! We had a room that was about a 5-10 minute walk to the Lobby/Main pool so it wasn't that bad for us. I did not enjoy the 80,000 bus stops and how they share one bus in each stop to goto one park. We got the first bus stop (after the entrance area stop) so we were pretty good in finding a spot, but by the time we were leaving the resort the bus was PACKED! On our last night, DF and I went to our first E-nights, we stayed at MK til the very very end (which was about 1 or 2 am) - needless to say the ride back was not enjoyable at all.

Personally, I enjoyed Pop Century a lot more!

The only moderate I am willing to do now is POFQ which looks absolutely gorgeous!
